Cancelling Sky TV

If I was to cancel Sky TV, is it true that I would receive the channels you get on Freeview?

No, you would get the Sky FTA channels. Similar to the Freeview line up, but not identical.
    Freeview is a terrestial platform.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Do you know what the Sky FTA channels are?

The ones you don't need to pay a sub to get (i.e the non-premium channels).

IMO freeview is better than freesat. On freesat you don't get skysports news, dave, watch, virgin one to name a few from memory!

Different, not necessarily better it depends on your interests.

There are far more channels on Freesat (and freesat from Sky) than there are on freeview--including several extra movie channels, music, cooking, foreign language, travel, news, general entertainment, more +1's and HD. That is without counting all the extra channels you can tune into which are not on the EPG.

That said Saturdays have to be freeview for Soccer Saturday.

Sadly now Sky own Virgin 1 I don't expect it to remain in its present format on freeview as they will want to drive people to subscribe.

Unplug it without the card in, then plug it back in.
