Do Tesco Accept Mobile Phone Returns If No Receipt?

Hi,

Don't know if this is in the right section.

Got a mobile for my nephew about 2 weeks ago for his birthday. Took the receipt and put it somewhere. Nephew looked at phone box and didn't like it.

I'm wanting to take it back but can't find the receipt for the life of me. It was an Orange phone on PAYG. Will they let me change it for another phone or is a receipt necessary?

Advise please.

I believe often mobile phones are exempt from a store's returns policy unless they are faulty but I don't know if this is the case with Tesco. If they do allow you to return it then a credit card statement is often accepted by many retailers as a proof of purchase if you don't have the receipt. No retailer is obliged to give you an exchange or refund if you don't like the product/changed your mind even if you do have a receipt.
