Just totted up what we have spent and the grand total is £193.00 plus I did manage to get the Costco shop down to £50.00 exactly yesterday, although I think that was because there wasn't anything extra there we wanted, well apart from some gorgeous christmas bits but we succumbed this time..not sure how we will do the next visit in 3 months time though..lolMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Gosh that was harder than i thought but careful planning does go a long way to keep costs down. This is the first time I've ever done this so I didn't try too hard but I added it all up and looked at what I normally spent and with all the tips from everyone out there I've saved around £25 per week!
01/09-07/09.... £90.02
08/09-14/09....£59.23
15/09-21/09....£77.93
22/09-28/09....£72.06
For three adults and two kids, all meals and cleaning stuff.I can't remember who now but the lady with the banana flapjack recipe my daughter loves you. It's also been great fun and a lesson in the value of money.I don't have the crippling debts that some of you have out there but I am in awe of the way that you lot are getting to grips and dealing with your debts responsibly. If I had a hat I'd take it off to you. Roll on September!

well i started off well and ended up failing miserably
first week i came i under budget but the next week i kept buying bits for christmas and generally overspending.
i am now thinking before i buy and meal planning so ive been coming in better than before i used to check what ispent im sure of that.
And slightly off topic weve used £2,000 of savings to make capital repayments (so the shortfall is less, £2k more over the next 2 years and we should have covered it) this has so far saved us £12 a month is interest charges!!!SPC~12 ot 124

Cazzdevil wrote:Snow Angle - does your £40 include household products & toiletries? I've set myself a budget of £60 including those but still wonder whether it'll be a bit high.
It'd be interesting to see how another "buying for 1" does in the challenges.
Technically I buy just for me. But my boyfriend and I eat at each others' houses every other night, so I still kind of buy for one....but he's a bigger one than me! :rotfl: I'm going to try £40 again this month - but I don't include toiletries and household in that.0 -
Doh - sorry about the typo on your name there Snow Angel (note to self: cut fingernails).
My boyfriend comes up to stay with me 2 weeks out of every 4 so he chips in with the shopping, but I'm still gonna stick to my own budget. He has an obsession with 2am sandwiches when he can't sleep so we get through brick upon brick of cheese when he's here ::rolls eyes::0 -

Just had a peep in the cupboards and freezer - lots and lots of stuff. Will drag partner off settee tonight and between us we can get a list of our stock and devise some meals !!!! hopefully. Will definitely pinch some ideas to delicious offerings made from back of the cupboard items.
Have got to cut back on groceries, so this might help out - and less to carry when we move home.
p.s sold 1 car, still own the 2nd but needed for work as 25 miles not walkable.
