Full details of all price increasesWe are increasing the price of Pay As You Go Dial-up Internet access from 3-2-1 to 3-3-3 pence per minute.
Are you changing the price of your Broadband access services? No. There's no change

Anyone on NTL requiring dial up access can beat these price rises by joining the Phone Co-Op (for free) which will give you 0845 phone calls for 3.95p/min daytime, 1p/min evenings and weekends. Many pay as you go dial up providers operate via 0845 so you can take your pick.
You simply need to set your computer to dial the 0800 phone co-op access number, followed by a pause, then your ISP 0845 number.
You pay your line rental to NTL as usual. May be cheaper the use the phone co-op for your phone calls, too - that's your choice.

Am i missing something here? i don't quite understand the format for the pricing, is it 3p daytime, 3p evening and 3p weekend ?
Is that what is meant by 3-3-3 ?
if so, sounds a right rip-off to me0 -

In the case of NTL, it appears that 0845 numbers cost 4.45ppm daytime, 1.75ppm evening, 1.45ppm weekend. Therefore, you would have to switch ISP providers to get the best value. See here specifically at bottom of page 17.
NTL during the daytime but an 0845 dial-up ISP during the evening & weekend.0 -

Indeed. I am suggesting cable dial-up users use the Phone Co-op as their PHONE CALL SUPPLIER, not necessarily as their ISP. Unlike many phone companies, you can use the phone co-op's service on a cable line - you just dial an 0800 access number to get a "second" dial tone. This puts the phone call on your phone co-op bill and not your NTL bill.
Daytime usage at 3p connection and 3p per minute would make calls longer than 3 minutes cheaper on NTL direct. Otherwise, phone co-op the rest of the time. There is also a minimum call charge of just 1.2p with the phone co-op (and no connection fee) - useful for a quick "send and receive" and disconnecting again.
You are right that NTL charge more for 0845 calls, but using the Phone Co-op avoids this.0
