Well think what you like. I would say that they have both paid more than enough tax to be awarded something to help in this situation. He paid the rent on the house and gave her a small amount each week aswell as childbenefit which she used to get by. He moved back to help as shes finding it hard to cope due to everything thats happend and they wouldnt of been able to pay rent and feed them all without the over time he worked which stopped 2 month ago. Yes she did rent the house for a year. We've been trying to help furnish it using free sites, groups and charitys in between everything else thats been going on. They have just started claiming jsa and have put in a claim for housing benefit and childtax credit but are waiting for them to come through. They have never claimed benefits before
maybe if you told the whole story in the OP (in a way thet didnt hide the sub plot) people would have understood why they were turned down for the community care grant and no matter how much tax anyone has paid it dosnt change the outcome.
They will get the benefits that they are applying for now if they qualify for them.Well i'm sorry if my spelling isnt up to scratch but ive not had a problem to read it and nobody else has
Its not your spelling but your lack of truth thats the problem, you spun it so well that welshmoneylover fell for it!0 -

I asked for help and advice on how to deal with community care grants as i dont know much about them and i'm trying to help my sister out. I didnt want to go into her personal details over the internet.maybe if you told the whole story in the OP (in a way thet didnt hide the sub plot) people would have understood why they were turned down for the community care grant and no matter how much tax anyone has paid it dosnt change the outcome.

Income tax is not a savings scheme so they have no automatic right to claim any money as 'theirs'.
It doesn't matter what I think but it can be useful to hear alternate interpretations if you want to asess why the claim was turned down, isn't it?
If I can see all these flaws, you cam be assured the decision maker did too!0 -
I understand what your saying but under the circumstances i thought they would be entitled to some sort of help. We understand they wont just give you money for the sake of it and she went into full detail on the form and explained everything in detail. She was refused due to probeley not stating how much under pressure they have been under. but just wanted a little bit of advice on how to explain the pressure they have been underIncome tax is not a savings scheme so they have no automatic right to claim any money as 'theirs'.
