Wow! There are some wicked ideas. And everyone's so jenerous! I've been thinking about it today actually, and the DFW has got such a tight grip on me, that short of paying off debts, buying a house and giving money to the people I love, I honestly can't think what I'd do with it. There's not much I need really
Although I have to say it would be nice to blow some on stuff I don't need for a change *sigh* If only hey?! Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Debt Now:

Great question! :j
£3m to family (£1m each to each parent & OH)
£1m to pay off my loan & our mortgage, remodel & redecorate our house, & buy a property overseas, employ cleaner & gardener
£1m to spend for fun - clothes, holidays, cars, books, entertainment, music & photography equipment, beads, artwork & whatever else takes my fancy!
£1m to animal charities
£4m to invest & live off the interest
I'm looking forward to it now!

Maybe I'd buy myself a little place then! To store my car mats in! :think:0 -
I forgot to mention that I would help out any desperate DFWs anxious to purchase car mats.:rotfl:The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

first thing i'd do, like everyone is pay off my debts and mortgage. i don't think i'd give up my job, i enjoy it, but it's only been three days so give it time! other things i'd do, in no particular order...
-pay off dads mortgage so he can retire early when his times up in the fire brigade next april
-pay off mums (+stepdad and sis) dmp, mortgage, cars and gift her the cash to do the remodelling she has dreamed of on her house if she wants to stay there
-take mum off on round the world type trip to new zealand and south africa then meet stepdad in las vegas for celine dion concert(mum)/poker(stepdad)
-send sis off on hols wherever she wishes
-take dad skiing someplace and learn to snowboard
-take hols to newe orleans, buy the first street house in the garden district and set up some charity/organisation to help with rebuilding the city
-start a company/charity working through my gym (or setting up new one) to help overweight/obese people to overcome the view of beautiful people in gyms to enable them to lose weight/gain confidence
-finish redecorating y flat and build bigger walls round garden to keep brats out, and pay gardener to tidy up garden then maybe rent it out
-get driving license and buy bmw
-buy house on queen street-millionaires row...how appropriate!
-i'd also buy my aunt a ground floor flat, she's got severe arthritis type problems and is waiting for a council ground floor place
-i'd want to do summit for my godmum and her family but don't know what, to my knowledge they dont have money/holiday probs
-i'd book a big castle/hotel type thing and throw a huge party for all the dfw's so we can all actually meet up! and minnie spender and mcbirnie would get super size luxury type rooms for all the help they have given me
i think thats enough dreaming for one day, tho all the money left would be properly invested so i (and my future family) could live happly for the rest of our lives.
omg i cannot believe i forgot to buy shoes and clothes  all this money appears to have turned my head form what really matters :rotfl: so i'll throw in a huge shopping trip to new york near xmas so i can go ice skating in central park.0 -
I would be tempted to invest some of it in Tesco Value Toilet Paper:DI am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

DFW Nerd # 166 PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS0 -
Not wanting to put a damper on our £10 million win but we need to consider tax implications of giving large lump sums to our nearest and dearest,as well as charities.
Is there a tax expert on this forum who can give some advice ?
(Am I taking this too seroius lol !! )0 -
I reckon I would 'only' need £100,000 to pay off my debts and the mortgage, and buy DH a new car and bike. Then I'd put the same amount into savings and give the rest to various charities.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0
