Fake GHDs bought off ebay
Comments

Hi, when I rang GHD they said they were fake as lots of devices had the same bar code as the one on mine. they person I bought them from on ebay said she bought them from the manufacturer direct. She has agreed to provide a full refund for me, so I won't get back the post I've paid to return the package, but I will the initial postage I paid and amount for the GHDs. I paid £80 in total originally.
i have sent the GHDs back by special delivery.0 -

It is good you have a refund with no hassle, but I have to disagree with you returning the item to the seller. Now the seller can resell to another unsuspecting person.
Ensure you pass the details of the seller to GHD.0 -
Definitely make sure you pass the seller's details on to GHD! They might even offer you a discount on a genuine pair!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
When I have my refund I will definately pass on details of the seller to GHD. the only thing is it will be my word against theirs, and no I didn't take any pictures before I sent them back.
I see some other people had also bought the same GHD set as me from the seller. I didn't know whether to send them a message to say they have been sold fake GHDs or not.0 -
Yes, but you also have the GHD serial/barcode number, or there may be a log of your call to them.
You don't know if the others have been sold fakes. So don't interfere, you could get yourself banned from Ebay.0 -

Yes but if GHD got funny about providing a letter confirming they are fake the OP could have lost out. If the seller is actively selling fakes not returning one set isn't really going to stop them.0 -

Stuck between a rock and a hard place. But now we find out the seller (possibly) has/had more of these sets. I would definately have gone with the return to GHD route.
I would perhaps have asked them to fax confirmation that serial number 12345 was fake. Then sent them back, asking for a more formal letter.0 -
How about you send them to.TS first, so that you have sufficient proof for PP if GHD wont tell you in.writing that theyre fakes?0
