Hi
I purchased a GHD precious gift set off ebay and when I have rung GHD to confirm their authenticity apparantly they are fakes. Would I be able to get my money back via paypal does anyone know? The listing did not say they were fakes.
Thanks
Sara

Firstly, when did you buy them? You must be within 45 days to open a Paypal dispute.
Secondly, BEFORE you open the dispute you must have written confirmation to the effect the goods are fake. Ask GHD if they will supply this in writing.
If both of those are applicable, file the dispute and you will get your refund in full. Paypal usually tell you to destroy the fakes, but do not do anything until the case is resolved.0 -
Have you actually spoken to the seller?
When did you buy them you have 45 days to make a claim. You need to get written confirmation from GHD to submit to paypal to prove they are fake, Do this before you open a claim as you only get 10 days to do it
They could not be listed as fakes as it is illegal to sell counterfeit goods i

Blimey quick response. Thanks. I bought them about 10 days ago on ebay. I have just messaged the seller, asking if they can confirm they are authentic, and that GHD told me they were fakes.
I will ring GHD again and ask them to confirm they are fakes in writing.
I haven't spoken to the seller no.0 -
Well just rung GHD again. Confirmed they are fakes and not to use them as they could potentially be dangerous. GHD have said in order for me to get it in writing that they are fake then I would need to send the straighteners to them. They will confirm within 5 working days by letter if they are fakes. Then once 14 days have passed they may return or destroy them.
Great, so if I send them in for GHD to confirm they are fakes, there is a chance they will not return them if they are fake. I have not heard back from the seller yet. What is the best plan of action do you think?
Thanks

If they are fakes and GHD confirm this in writing to you, then you will need to open a case in paypal, as they would have been confirmed as fake, you would not be expected to send them back to the seller for a refund.
I would explain this to the seller now what you are going to do and what GHD have said to give the seller the opportunity to refund now before going through this process. Do NOT open a case just yet as you only have 7 days I think to provide proof and you may not get this from GHD in time, wait until you get confrimation that they are fake before you open a caseAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
So if I sent them back to GHD to verify that they are fakes, and they send me a letter saying this, if GHD do not return the GHDs to me as they are counterfeit, will I still receive a refund from the seller for the price I paid for the GHDs plus postage? Thank you0

If GHD confirm they're fake, then you'll get back whatever you paid the seller i.e. item cost and initial postage.
You'll have to pay the postage to send them to GHD.
It's worth noting that GHD are VERY strict about authenticity, so give them the details of the seller. They often send solicitors letters to unauthorised GHD sellers! They recommend you ONLY buy GHDs from authorised vendors, as stated on their official web site.
How much did you pay for them?
It's 100% normal for GHD to keep them if they're fake. They will get destroyed.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Just as a bit of caution I have heard of a few cases of GHD refusing to write a supporting letter. So confirm they will do this before sending them to them0 -
Dozens of these gift sets were knocked out at an auction in Manchester two weeks ago. I am assuming that ghd have named them as fake because of serial numbers?0
