I think Robert Dyas are stretching the "original" price a bit - http://www.johnlewis.com/Home+and+Garden/Storage/Storage/Bins/230136481/Product.aspx £69 there. Still a nice saving though.0

Dealmad wrote:Hope not or i will be very disappointed , did want the Push Brabantia bin but went for this cause of the offer so hopefully will not be plastic
Surely it means that just the base is plastic (ie. to protect the floor)?? All the touch bins I've seen have been metal.
On checking the Brabantia site, I've found this with regards to the Touch bins:
Robust round body made of high-grade chromium-steel, brushed stainless steel or steel plate with Galfan coating
Whatever that means?
I guess the metallic grey ones will be 'steel plate with Galfan coating'. I pressume that's steel with a powder coating.
EDIT:
Ok I'm getting sad now! I've just turfed up this information:
Galfan® is a hot-dipped galvanizing process using a eutectic alloy of 95% Zinc and 5% Aluminum plus a trace of mischmetal (rare earth elements) [per ASTM B750] for extended corrosion resistance without the spangle typically associated with straight zinc galvanizing. When combined with either an aluminum-rich epoxy or black epoxy coating, corrosion resistance is extended even longer. The duplex coating that Markin Tubing applies to our Galfan® tubing has synergistic characteristics so that when applied together, corrosion-resistance jumps to 3000+ hours or double the sum of each coating alone.0 -
Just checked and it is now showing In StockMatched betting profits since 11/10/06 = £1,5540

Thanks for that info British beef , its what i thought maybe its just the bottom of the bin what has a plastic coating to prevent damage to floor...just wanted to make sure though as couldnt tell by the picture.
Does this just take the Brabantia bin bags? or can you just use a normal black bin bag? not quite sure if normal size bag would be big enough?0
