    That's it. Injector pump. £1348.38 inc.vat.

You wont be able to get it at an aftermarket retailer, but you might be able to get a diesel specialist to refurb it for you? We have one local to us on the south coast that charged around £650 for a similar job. (Called Auto Marine Diesels)

Modern diesel injection pumps are working with very high pressures, much higher than for petrol cars, which makes them expensive :(

...and get one for a third of the price, but may only last a few months. Recon is a similar price, but at least you're starting with a complete strip down, new parts if required and a warranty.

Spoke to my husband earlier. Thanks for all the help. He has managed to order one from a spares company for £170. Just needs to get it fitted now. Is this an expensive job too?

It could also last much longer but I get your point! I suppose it depends on the OPs current finances.

    ??????????????????????????????????????????

Ok, but injector pumps are on a low average, £1k, that is actually disgusting, but a fact, as you have found 2nd hand is the way to go, this is not a problem to just VW.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
