Does anyone know of any mobile phone contracts or pay as you go that will give you any minutes of free calls to an Asian mobile number?

You could check O2's "Your country" payg sim card. In my opinion £15 topup is best value.

Top upOn top of your credit you get:
£10 - £14 50 minutes to call international landlines and international mobiles* from the UK
£15 - £29 100 minutes to call international landlines and international mobiles* from the UK
£30+ 200 minutes to call international landlines and international mobiles* from the UK

If you have either O2 Xnet or Orange Xnet minutes and combine that with a World Sim you can use those minutes to call Asian mobiles.

In that case, I would second nenad's suggestion. The sim is free to order and for a tenner, it's not a bad deal, so maybe worth a shot?

If you don't have an o2 phone, they have some cheap payg ones on their website, as do carphone warehouse.
