yeah my pay works like that too:rolleyes:angeldeelite wrote:i dont get paid for another week
it's always the last Thursday of the month which sometimes means we have to wait 5 weeks for pay and throws all money saving and bills out of sync during those months. so i'm having to borrow money this month to pay the bills and rent.
so it's going to be a quiet bank holiday oh well

Our pay used to be like this too, and we used to get paid a week early at Christmas, which could make it a 6 week month sometimes. Then one day, after comparing levels of skintness amongst colleagues, I got a petition together and wrote to HR with the suggestion that payday should be on the 15th of each month. They eventually consulted all staff and agreed, but chose to make the 27th the designated day instead. I was amazed, because I work in a very large organisation (NHS Trust) so it's worth trying to do something about this if it makes life harder than it needs be.cattie1 wrote:yeah my pay works like that too:rolleyes:

We were supposed to be moving last month, but owing to some 'problems' they decided to hold off till this month, then decided that they'd save some money by delaying it again (and they kept that quiet - they only changed the date on the web-site - though we should get back pay as well - which means that once more it'll be november before I know my take home for this month! Oh well...
/me wave goodbye to the budget
I work for Edinburgh Uni and I'm in the same boat, been given my annual increment but not my rise only plus side next months salary is going to be backdated to August.
I've been signed off work for the last 2 weeks (another week to go:( ) and recieved my letter about it all in the post yesterday. Was expecting it in this months pay but guess I'll just have to wait another month for it.DFW Nerd no. 177
