    I think you need to change your plumber as well as your motor valve if that is what he charging for a simple repair like that. The part must be no more than £25-how long did it take him?
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    I dont think that the price is too far out.

    Valve heads retail at around £40, call out of £60, all plus VAT presumably.

    Problem is he should have known it was the valve body stuck in the first place.

    I thought you might say that! Thing is, with everything else I've got going on at the mo I don't have too much time to get different folk in. I did think it was a bit excessive, but what do I know? :o He's coming back to drain the system and fit the new valve. He was there about 40 mins maybe.....

    Sadly, in your current position, the cheapest option will be to let him replace the valve body only.

    For someone else to come in now would probably be another around another £140 ish, plus VAT.
