    Hi,

I am in a similar situation. I am transfering 2 ISAs from HSBC to Nationwide. One has been transferred and credited to my account (too about 7 weeks in total). The other is no where to be seen and I cannot access my money.

HSBC confirmed that they sent a cheque to Nationwide on the 22nd of May and have been trying to contact them since to find out why they haven't cashed the cheque. Nationwide have apparently been trying to contact HSBC but have received no response.

In the interim I am stuck without my money!!! I have to rely on Nationwide to contact HSBC, get them to cancel the cheque, resend it then credit it to my account. So I am guessing another 2/3 weeks!

    Not impressed!!

Why can this not be done electronically?!?!

It can be, but they choose not to, I wonder why???????????????????????? 'And guess who is losing interest on all this????????????????????? So cheesed off by it all like everyone else but what can we do???? At least the threatening letters to void my applications have stopped arriving, think another one of them would send me over the edge.

I wanted to transfer my FD ISA into Nationwide, so i applied for their current account so that i could then get there ISA. 2 weeks later, no application form. Phoned them and they claimed they had sent it to my corrcet address but would send another. 10 days later, still no application form so i dumped them and went with BM.

This was over a month ago, and, although i don't need it now, i have still not recieved the Nationwide application form.

will avoid them in the future!!

Just an update - still no money!
  • I understand the frustration in these posts. I went into a branch of Santander to move my A&L ISA in. I know that they are all part of the same happy family now, but its been over 7 weeks and no movement yet. A&L tell me its gone, but Santander can't send me a statement to show me its arrived...
Wishing everyone else luck in their ISA transfer issues...

Could someone give Nationwide's ISA Dept phone no. please? I have been waiting 6 weeks for a transfer from M&S. The branch are hopeless.

The number on a recent letter is 0845 6028781. Address is ISA Transfer In Team, Dept NW6029, Nationwide Building Society, Electra House, Farnsby Street, Swindon, SN2 1BR.

Only non-0845 that will get you anywhere is 01793 656789. This is just for general enquiries, so you'll need to ask to be put through to the ISA department.
  • Looking at these posts it's good I decided not to transfer my ISA to NW this year. 2 years ago they lost my husband's application and didn't open his ISA, they gave him cheque from his previous provider when we wanted cash to pay for the house.
I still can't understand why they bother with sending cheques when we have fast payments, not to mention BACS.

My ISA transfer from First Direct to Nationwide has now gone through.
    Process started on 28th April.
    Complete 16th June.
    Time taken is really unacceptable.
The government have to bring in enforceable rules to speed up this process for savers.

I checked yesterday and the money was in. I'm not sure when it went in because it isn't dated and the last time I checked was the 10th.
