Have you looked at booking with the campsites directly? We have Keycamped for the past few years and on all of the sites, the site have had their own vans as well. When you look at their costs, they are normally a lot cheaper than the Kaycamp/Eurocamp companies. (I assume you would use one of the sites caravans when going with the 'Sun')

    Hi
We've just bought our first caravan and are looking to take it to France in late July for a holiday - could you let me have the details of any campsites that you have thought particularly good? We've used it a few times in this country and prefer the "CL" type sites so are not looking for a lot of facilities, just electric, water and toilet emptying facilities. We are fairly flexible on the area where we want to go too! Thanks in advance

In France look at the 'camping municipal' Town or village run sites, sometimes basic but usually cheap. Even now you can get a site right next to the Med with electricity for around 10 euro.

Do a google search using this search term - you'll find plenty of places listed:

    camping municipal les landes

also this link is helpful, I think:

I've used French freedom a couple of times.

Yes we have used them as well. They are very helpful and the vans are very clean and well kept.

definitely try www.directholidayhomes.co.uk . I have been looking for summer hols next yr ( south of france) places like Siblu,Eurocamp,Vacansoleil etc wanted between £800 - £1200 for a week!!!whereas direct with the owners they ranged from £350 - £700 ish for the same time!. some looked really nice ,as nice as the Siblu etc ones, with decking etc. we went to Lake Garda in May half term, and used one of the lesser known companies www.selectcamp.co.uk and had no problems ,I was a bit worried as they seemed too cheap compared to the other companies! lol
