    Morning all

The meat/fish for our meal plan this week will come from the freezer and 1) cash is on the thin side and 2) I struggled to fit ice pops in the freezer yesterday so really need to make some space!

SAT Chinese style Steak burgers with salad and fries
SUN Lunch Omlettes/Bacon Sarnies Dinner Roast Chicken & Trimmings
MON Fish pie for kids DH & I eating out later
    TUE Cantonese Chicken
    WED Pork or chicken Fajitas

That will do for now - I'll update for later in the week once I can see further into the freezer!

This week we'll be having -

Sun - Game pie, boulangere pots and broccoli
Mon - Beans on toast as at puppy training so no time for a real meal!
Tues - Mushrooms on toast for me as OH training
Weds - Oh will sort himself out with something on toast as I'm at college
Thurs - Kievs from the feezer, HM potato wedges and peas
Fri - Salad for me as OH away
Sat - Salad for me as OH away

An easy (and cheap!) week for meals as we're not really home much!

    Hello all,

Hope you have been enjoying some lovely weather. It makes cooking more challenging though as I prefer lighter picky food in the heat! Anyway, here is this weeks mealplan:

Sun – Pasta with Chicken in Tomato & Mascarpone Sauce
Mon – Thai Green Chicken Curry & Rice
Tue – Cheese & Onion Quiche with Salad
Wed – Trout or Salmon, Potatoes & Veg with some sort of sauce
Thu – Prawn Schezuan Stir Fry
Fri – Chicken Chasseur, Potatoes & Veg
Sat – Chicken Katsu Curry (OH is cooking this but doesn’t know yet!)

    Breakfast will be cereal/toast
Lunches will be salads – chicken, prawn, tuna and maybe soup if there is a cooler day!

    Congrats to Memelalou! :j
Hotcookie - if you read back, I am interested in your leek and tarragon sauce recipe, thanks! :D

  • This is my first meal planning exercise - I have joined the grocery challenge and have loved reading all of the tips on there and also getting some good ideas from your meal plans. Here goes!

Sunday - Beef stir fry with egg noodles
Monday - liver and onions with jersey royals and carrot and swede
Tuesday - Burgers in buns, salad, oven chips
Wednesday - hm BBq chicken thighs, salad, Baked Potato with sour cream
Thursday - Pasta with turkey mince bolognaise style sauce
Friday - hm chicken curry with hm naan bread
Saturday - Stuffed raost chicken, stuffing balls, roast parsnips, roast potatoes, carrots, sprouts and gravy
Breakfasts all week will be cereal and/or toast for us all
Lunches will be sandwiches (tuna or cheese salad) (kids) or something on toast (me)
Desserts will be fruit or mullerlight (or both!)

Almost all of the above can be made from stuff already in the freezer or fridge. Just need to shop for bread, milk, salad, veg, fruit and dog food! Just hope the kids will eat it! They are wonderful at saying they don't fancy stuff.....

Here's mine - bit boring, as like some of you say, I'm finding it hard to plan with the weather we've got here. Have managed to do 2 week's worth whilst I was at it, as I find it easier to keep the food costs down if I do it that way.

Sunday 6th: Spinach & ricotta tortellini in value pasta sauce
Monday 7th: Chilli Beanfeast, rice and sour cream
    Tuesday 8th: MIL's
Wednesday 9th: Fishfingers, cheese sauce, baked beans & cauliflower cheese grills
Thursday 10th: Cottage cheese jacket potato with salad
    Friday 11th: M&D's
Saturday 12th: Veggie chicken korma with rice and garlic naan bread
Sunday 13th: HM veggie lasagne and salad
Monday 14th: LM Farmhouse pie (me), reggae reggae chicken (OH), veg & wedges
    Tuesday 15th: MIL's
Wednesday 16th: Cheesy beans jacket potato and salad
Thursday 17th: Veggie sausages, beans and mash
    Friday 18th: M&D's
Saturday 19th: HM Macoroni cheese, salad and garlic bread
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
