Stitching witch - the lady that sorted out my wedding dress and related underwear stuff was MUCH older than you! It made me feel much better - no young gorgeous thing (not that you're not gorgeous, but you know what I mean!) to hold your belly in for and someone that's seen it all before!

Up the older lady I say!!!

ETA - just checked ebay and 3 items have closed - 2 have sold for another £18 plus P&P and they were just unwanted and unliked clothes in the wardrobe. Chuffed with that! I also have bids on two things closing tomorrow so more money then!

Stitching witch - 53 is NOT old! And like everyone else said - much better than a young wippersnapper when it comes to flabby bits :) I had a corset made by a friend when she was just starting up - she was very slender and well put together, (same age as me), and I did feel rather self conscious exposing my flabbier bits :) So don't worry about that!

(and remember - you might have to work there for 2 years to pay off your debts - BUT (a) 2 years isn't very long, and you can be plotting and scheming round your business in the meantime, and (b) if you keep an eye out, you might just be able to swap to a much more cheery job sooner rather than later........)

Well done for being proactive anyway! :) Sounds like it'll be varied at least, and won't be sales ALL of the time. Good luck.

What kind of corsets? Fantast, norty ones or holdem in out of necessity types? If the former - how wonderful!!

    This made me smile!
I'm not sure how you'd describe my corsets. Mostly outerwear to go with jeans, skirts, suits..... I've often worn them for a night out with the girls. I also make underwear type corsets - simple one-layer corsets for tightlacing and producing that hour-glass figure. I have started using really soft leather and wore my leather corset out one night, which created quite a stir amongst my ex-colleagues. ;)
I'll get photos done of my samples and stick them on photobucket tomorrow so you can all see the type of stuff I do.

    Hey everyone!

What a(nother!) gorgeous sunny day! Being a bit ditzy is handy sometimes as I am still getting little thrilling surprises when I remember that it is Thursday and not Wednesday!!

Okay, so what DFW things have I done today? It's been a pretty good day so far, I think, even though it hasn't been a NSD (boo :() but I feel like I've got a lot accomplished, especially if all the glorious ticks on my to-do list are anything to go by!!
    • 3 new items listed on Gumtree (hopefully I won't be scammed today!)
    • Cancelled my Experian report (so I won't be billed next month)
    • Checked out sewing classes (had a look on John Lewis as I'm in London - if anyone has any recommendations I'd be really glad to hear them! Though maybe on the Old Style board instead)
    • Booked camping site and enclosure tickets for going to Henley next month and got the "early bird" cheaper price
    • Printed out the data protection letter for reclaiming bank charges, just need to enclose cheque and post it off
    • Posted off a DVD that I sold on Amazon
    • Posted off my old mobile to Mopay and earned (hopefully £58.20 for the mob + £3.80 cashback from Quidco)
    • Brought in lunch from home
    • Availed of free biccies and tea at work :p
    Later on I need to:
    • Do meal plan for next week and write shopping list
    • Switch gas and electricity supplier
    • Put lunch together for tomorrow
    • Do sketching exercises
    • Print out notices for CV writing and English lessons to post up at the library and supermarket
Phew! I'm a bit pooped just looking at all of that, but oh yeah, I've done it already :T

Hope everyone else's day is going swimmingly :j

Hi our folks, had a long lie in this morning as it is my day off and then I am working days straight.:(

Not a cheap day but some DFW done.

    I have :
    • recieved £10 voucher in post from surveys
    • spent quality time with dd
    • Had lunch at Bella Italia and had a cheap beer rather than wine, got free deserts from manager due to poor service. I did not complain they just came over and apologised for our long wait.
    • Treated myself to a handbag , got £6 off as the strap was broken but mended in 10 seconds :D
    • Agreed to pay for gardening work , not too happy as its a bit pricy , will see how it goes for a month and then maybe stop.
    • checked banking - looking ok
    • checked ebay - hmm just a few watchers
    • organise my lunch and milk to take to work tommorow so I can have a NSD
    • SiL gave me a half bottle of wine - she doesn't drink red :D
    • Bought 2 big boxes of thorntons chocs for pressies , they were on offer at half price £7 each from £14 :)
    • comps
    • surveys
Going to ask my manager if I can do my masters  , im rubbish at esseys but getting this qualification is the only way I can see myself getting out of this job :(

  • so much to reply to today! Stitching witch {{hugs}} sorry things seem so bleak for you and I really hope the work situation resolves itself quickly - will have to keep up with the little things & ebay etc to bring DFD nearer. Echoing what everyone else has said 53 is not old! Be kind to urself! I value wisdom & maturity over mere youth especially if I'm exposing my bits to someone x

Cheery daff ur ongoing intentions to seal the bath made me chuckle - a woman after my own heart! It took us about 8 months to do our kitchen because I kept putting it off. It only got done finally as oh started doing it everyday and then halfway thru doing the floor I officially announced I was NEVER doing any diy ever again and left him to finish it! re VO I had trouble logging into my account after about a year (so I have cash in there) I emailed them to say I couldn't log on, got a reply saying they could and that was that??!!

kel how was the date? another scheduled??

    And finally where's cloesmum?
