            I really like it
You should be proud of it all. An excellent example of growing your own food in a smaller garden and reusing stuff which shows it doesn't have to cost a fortune. Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
I've just been having another look at the pictures I've posted. It is hard to believe how much things have grown in only six days! The tomato plants are now inches above the windowsills. The french beans are right at the top of the homemade trellis and just about to start climbing the mesh. The peas have doubled in size and are desperate to go out in the ground. The swede in the pictures have doubled in size - really desperate to get out there and plant some stuff out, do some weeding, etc etc: if only this sodding rain would go away
it's constant here in Derby, and torrential too. Grrrr! "Your life is what your thoughts make it"

It's lovely to see pics of other people's progress so look forward to seeing some updates. I'm totally getting veg envy as yours sound much further along than mine though - my french beans are still only about 3 inches high and seem to be concentrating in growing outwards not upwards!
I was pleased to see this morning though that there are a couple of flowers starting to come through on my tomatoes, and my courgettes may follow soon - derby is only a short bit away from south yorks where I am, but maybe location makes all the difference!0 -
oh no sorry about the rain empty pockets, it's rubbish isn't it, the weather is not much better down south.0

Aaargh, just been listening to the local radio and we now have a severe weather warning for Derbyshire for torrential rain  Want it to stop, enough already! We're trying to re-fence one side of our garden - how can we paint the panels or do any concreting while the weather stays like this! We may be adopting a dog at the weekend and at this rate will have to keep him on a lead in the garden!
Frazzbo, our tomatoes, although very tall, still aren't showing any sign of flowers, so you're winning on that one

            Hi again everyone
I thought I'd post a few updated pictures, hope you enjoy them! Things have grown so much since the last lot were taken, most of it is looking very nice. Since adopting a little doggy, we have had to dog-proof our raised beds, because he was trampling all through them. No amount of 'telling' him would stop him going on there so we spent an hour yesterday building this bl**dy construction
We had no spare cash so couldn't go out and buy mesh, or fencing, so we had to find a way to do it for free. We used the metal/wire shelves out of two mini greenhouses and attached them to wooden posts which we screwed into place. As we only had seven shelves, we spaced them out around the edges of the raised beds, and then to fill in the gaps between them, we put screws into the posts and used garden twine in a zigzag direction to stop the doggy getting through...

And some of the other plants/veggies going strong...
Four of our eight Tomato plants, just starting to flower, plus various herbs in pots
The veggie patch and flower bed
Peas (some have been stripped by the birds and are struggling a little )
Cabbages! (and far too many weeds!)
DH's Beetroot
Swedes
French Beans climbing nicely up the homemade trellis!
That's it for now
