Well, I got mine and it works perfect for my telly, video, DVD and speakers. Have to decided to plug my Sky box into a standard wall socket and leave this on standby - it's a pain to wait for it to boot up after power down.
Hope this helps someone.

I'm not sure this is such a good idea for a TV.
It would turn off all the slave items (DVD, VCR etc) but its the TV that uses the most power and should really be shut off at the socket.
If your turning the TV off at the socket you don't need one of these you just need a bog standard 4 or 6 gang lead then you turn everything off with one switch..0 -
I had to use the adjustment screw on mine - the PC obviously uses more than 10W, but what's it using the extra power for??

My telly is quite old and has both a standby button and power button. When the power button is switched to off, the master quite happily switches off the slaves.
Works for me.Cut price signatures.

My plasma has an on/off switch, this is located around the back of the tele making it unusable !!!
This item is probably great if used properly, I measured the power consumption of my av setup a few weeks ago with the following (all on standby)
42" plasma
dvd recorder
sky+ box
av amplifier
sub woofer
they averaged a 'standby' consumption of 11.3kwh per week, at 8.9p/kwh i make it £1 a week virtually smack-on :rolleyes:0 -
Got mine a few days back - delivered in a box the size of a small house for some reason, you could have got about 50 of them in there.0

I bought one of these in netto last year (for £2.99) only problem is that lots of periferals specifically printers go into hypo phycotic mode when you switch the power on. So I'm not sure that I'm saving anything. I used to leave a printer on standby, now everytime I power on the computer goes through a huge amount of warming up each time I power on. Probably best to simply switch power off! There is no intelligent life out there ... ask any goldfish!0

Works for me.
I still dont get the advantage, If I walk over to my tv I can press the off button on the front or (as I do) turn it off at the wall which turns all my equipent off with one press and this special plug not needed. Its still only one button to press.
I guess is you cant easily reach your socket it would help but I just screwed a switch to the back of my TV stand that turns the lot off and it cost about £2.0 -

Precisely, my telly is perched on a chest of drawers and the sockets are near impossible to get to. This makes my job a little easier and in a few months, the master socket will have paid for itself.:jCut price signatures.
