Graduation Money saving?

I had to pay for my graduation which is next week, £45 for me and two guests. Plus the £39 for robes.0

Luckily I only have to pay £38 for robe hire and my sister is giving me the cash as a graduation present. The rest of the day is all free (Uni of Exeter in Cornwall) so that has been a lifesaver! The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Otherwise, you are bound to lose a truck, sooner or later. Source: Sergio Cha

Our Daughters graduation is the 13th July and we too are paying for gown hire. The photographer you dont pay in advance but get to look then order. Of course we will take our own camrera but want about 4 largish ones for family. Just wondered if we bought the single package how much would it be to take it to a shop and have copies done (assume this is possible) we have Max Spiellman, Boots etc0

Anyone know if you can get copies from copies?0

As I recall my graduation ceremony from Imperial College London was quite expensive (prices equal to or above all of the prices listed in previous posts). I was vehemently against going, thought it was an absolute waste of time, but the parents insisted (and they were paying).
They could probably just about defend the ticket cost as they do hire out the Royal Albert Hall for the ceremonies, which I imagine isn't cheap.0 -
Open University was charging for guests and external company for robes, did not attend though and got a refund for parents, luckily.0

You'd need written permission from the photographer to get copies ( I know cause I used to work in Boots on the photo department: I'm also a photography student/photographer).
The way to get around it is to use/borrow a scanner xProfessional Photographer with a love of bargain hunting.. Been a moneysavingexpert since 2006 :-D

I just graduated last week (23rd June) and when I sat for my official photos, hubby asked if he could take the same pic using our own camera - the photographer was fine with that, so we've just ordered bigger versions of our pic online for other family (much cheaper). Me and hubby are keeping the 'big' official one, and my nan and mum are having a smaller official one each.0
