I like the bow and brooch.
Saying that the cupcake one is lovely too.
We aren't bothering with a cake. May get a Thorntons chocolate cake just for me and OH though0 -
I like the cupcakes most (and as a guest, its what I'd most like to eat!) but the bow and broach is nice, and you could easily make that youself with some tiers from M & S.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I love the bow & brooch cake, it's very similar to a cake I was considering having made!
The mse is me has just decided to have cupcakes bought from m&s (hoping they'll still be doing them next year!), plus lasercut wrapper, with small m&s cutting cake on top, similar to your cupcake pic!:heartpuls dawnebabe :heartpuls0 -
Cupcakes (although I am biased as we are having cupcakes!) I just think cupcakes look more exciting as they are all a little bit different! We are having two different style of cupcakes with alternating colours of icing to match the colour scheme (black and white), and we also have some clack and white cupcakes wrappers.. will look fab. I do like the traditional cakes, but feel that you get more visual impact from a well designed cupcake tower, and the pic you posted looks amazing!
obviously it is up to you which you prefer! lolNow a married lady and loving it! Now..to clear that pesky mortgage! :beer:0 -
I am another 'Cup Cake' Voter!
I actually went for the cup cake option because of the range of flavours we could have and loved the 'look' of them with the cutting cake on top!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
If its any help to anyone the fiona cairn fairy cakes you see in waitrose can be bought at costco quite reasonably. They had packs of 12 cakes for about £9. They would look lovely mixed in with frosted cupcakes.0

I agree that they look nice, but they don't seem to be that different anymore, of the last 5 weddings I've been to, 4 have had cup cakes.
That said, the "traditional" wedding cake isn't that original either, although I prefer it.
I think the OH would ditch both for a cheese tower :rotfl:0 -
So did you all hear about the couple from Nuneaton?
True story.
They now live in the West country and the bride is having a Pork Pie wedding cake made by a local butcher in Nuneaton as her hubby to be loves Pork pies!!
True love or what!
Really a true story.0 -
