A PO line is a BT line.
What the o2 rep has been trying to say is that you need a BT type line as opposed to cable.
As previously posted, o2 do happily accept BT type lines which the customer is currently paying the PO line rental for.0 -
OP, it would help if you just plugged a phone into the socket, see if you have a dial tone, if so dial 17070 and find out whether it is a BT line and what the number is. You're assuming that the last active service on it was BT, but that may not be the case.
No telecoms company is gong to be able to offer you any specific info unless you can give them a number and establish the line status. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

O2 / Be:Enabled.................
My new question is this -
If i take a post office phone line and o2 bb, will i have o2 LLU or will they put me on o2 access?
What is the difference anyway between being on o2 LLu and not being on o2 LLU?
You will be on LLU (the good one)
The difference is the llu is the good one and much cheaper!0 -
I'd like to point out... O2 are fazing out Home Access.
was told this yesterday by O2 as my new line goes to a non LLU exchange and this would be the only thing they could offer me, but they have had problems with Home Access and are not really offering it now
I was with O2 in my old home as that exchange had LLU, the new one does not and am very restricted with who i can choose to have as ISP.
I am in the process in finding out if i can move to another exchange, although a little further away, it does have LLU0 -
You can't swap exchanges. You are wired to the one you are wired to I'm afraid.
Having a non-LU exchange does not restrict the number of ISP's available at all, it just means that you can't have the LLU tariffs. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

That's a shame, well at least you could be honest about it, BT (Hi Sarah) couldn't give me a straight answer, some said yes some said no some said not sure.
Thanks Macman0 -
If anyone at BT told you that you 'might' be able to swap exchanges, I suggest you ask to speak to someone further up the food chain, as they clearly require urgent 'retraining'!No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Someone has managed it although "the install cost rans to tens of thousands" - http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/general/3853487-possible-to-have-line-moved-from-one-exchange-to-another.html#Post3853601“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0
