How much change can you pay in to the bank in 1 go? I have heard the banks have a limit but can't find any info on the net? Do you think £100 in £2 coins and 20p etc will be accepted?
Thanks

It depends on the bank. Some will limit it to, say, three or five bags.
I expect that most would be fine with £100 in £2 and 20p pieces would be ok with most banks.
Why not ask your bank?0 -
I only get a chance to get to the bank every couple of weeks due to work. If not I will pay it in over 2 accounts.0

Depends on the account, I often pay over £5,000 (counted and bagged) in change in but it's a public authority account with the Co-op so may well have different rules. It takes them quite a while to count it out but I always phone ahead and they give me my own cashier for the duration.Self confessed nerd when it comes to anything financial and/or numerical! :cool:0

I think most clearing banks would be happy to take anything bagged up for a customer, maybe with an advance phone call if it's a particularly unwieldy amount. The truth is it saves the bank paying to order it in.0

Natwest and HSBC are fine with any amount, provided they have lots of business customers at the branch e.g. a town centre branch.
Halifax and Nationwide have a limit. Tends to vary by branch but typically 5 bags per customer per day. Usually children's accounts don't have a limit.0 -
The important thing is you take it in to a bank where you have an active account.
Some old building societies such as Santander banks (Abbey A&L etc) may well still only allow a few bags at a time.0 -
Clydesdale have no restrictions providing its bagged correctly, just don't turn up during a busy lunchtime or a grumpy teller could tell you to come back later.0

If it's all bagged up correctly, the larger banks don't count it anyway; they just weigh the bags, so it shouldn't take very long to pay it in. Even Nationwide does this, but they still have a 5 bags per day limit, though.0

lloyds tsb is unlimited so long as its all bagged correctly.0

Paid £120 quid into RBS last week, not a problem, mostly in smaller denominations. They dont seem to mind as long as it is correctly bagged up. I know that the Nationwide only accept a couple of bags at a time though.0
