Tesco Sim only Data FUP
According to the Tesco phone helpline, they "allow you to go over the monthly 500mb limit without charge and will warn you via SMS when you approach your data limit, but if you keep going over the 500 mb limit, you're charged "
But according to Tesco's T&Cs, you're charged at £4 per MB once over the 500 mb cap, no warnings and no slapped wrist.
Can any Tesco sim only data users shed more light on this ?

The T&C's have to say what they "can" do, not what they "will" do.
Speak to an advisor at Tesco. Get their name (if they won't give you a surname, ask for the name of their supervisor for your records - it always helps if you say "you've been so helpful that I just want to write in and tell someone", but do follow that up; see below). Make sure to log the date and time you called and the number you called from.
The telephone call will be recorded by Tesco and you can then rely on the information you were given, provided you keep the record of when you called. You then send a quick letter to Tesco saying "I spoke to Bob in Bill's team and he was really helpful. He explained how your data usage works and reassured me that if I were to go over my limit one month, that would be ok. I just wanted to thank you for employing such helpful staff". This way, you get what you want and "Bob" gets a pat on the back from his boss.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
It would easier if someone who is on the Tesco tariff could just give me an account of thier experience when they have exceeded the 500mb limit. I'm fed up being a contestant on 'Thats life ' everytime I buy something !
I'll leave the cloak and dagger stuff to Ester.0
