I have a sandwich toaster someone gave me.
When I turn it on, it works for a few seconds and the flips the trip switch so my home electrics fail.
What do I need to do here? Does it need a new fuse or plug do you think?
Thanks.

If the trip goes (as opposed to a fuse), it means the power is going somewhere it shouldn't (e.g. down the earth because the live is touching the case somehow). It's likely to be a safety problem - ditch it.0

Bin it.
If it was an ordinary toaster I'd say take it outside and give it a good shake upside down.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Not too sure whether you mean MCB or RCD, but it doesn't reaslly matter seeing as you are talking something that is £10 to buy brand new - ditch it and get new if you really want toasted sarnies.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0
