Autoaid

Currently member RAC Rescue/recovery etc with my daughter(student) as an additional member and looking to switch to autoaid at the end of the month.
Obviously being a student there isn't always much spare money so does anyone know if I was to also to get her autoaid membership and she needed a call out whether whoever came out to her would allow me to give my card details to settle her invoice?(she is at uni away from home)
Obviously I am looking to save money but also mindfull that she personally might not have the funds at the time(when most needed)
Anyone had any experience with this?

Well autoaid don't actually provide the service so it's not them taking payment.
It will be a local garage that turns up that will take payment and the guy taking the payment will be an oily mechanic and not a financial expert.

By all means ring them up and ask, but I CAN see why not and that's because the lcoal mechanic may not know how to take payments over the phone with the customer not being present or may not have the facilites.

Of course you could consider getting an additional card for your daughter on the understanding it's for breakdowns/emergencies only.

You do realise that your daughter would have to have her own AutoAid breakdown cover. Only spouse is allowed as additional member.

I can see there being a problem with this. It is not Autoaid who take the payments, it is the garage who are called out to the breakdown. I've only broken down once, but the towtruck that came out had a chip & PIN type card machine. So your daughter would need to have some sort of credit card on her in order to pay them.

    Thanks all,
I wil give them a ring and ask but I do suspect that there could be an issue with payment if I am not present.
Yes I realise that she would have to get Autoaid membership in her own name-as mentioned currently an additional member on my RAC membership(new quote has come in at £107.10-which isn't too bad) however I now have a much newer car that is covered by the dealership(for rescue, recovery etc) so don't need the other cover myself.
I guess that her overdraft should cover the cost and I can always do an online transfer.
Why is nothing ever straight forward lol.
