no fruites gooseberry
I got an allotment in March and was delighted to find it had an enclosed fruit cage with a couple of mature gooseberry bushes and a red currant bush ,the red currant has lots of fruit on and I have fed the gooseberry but have got no fruit where have I gon wrong ...anyone

Thanks have read through,I wonder if the isects are not able to get through the cage mesh ,the plants look healthy and green,will plant some flowers next year to attract insects.0

the bush might need pruning and thinning out. to many branches taking to much food from the soil, open the bush up by thinning the branches in the middle letting sunlight and air in.
sawfly strips the leaves, the bushes can still flower and produce fruit even when the sawfly attacks although no where near as good as if it had not appeared.0
