I do cinnamon with honey and cinnamon - or brush water on, sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on then roll it up.0

Wow,who wouldve thought a slice of our daily could be so emotive, anyway thanks guys for some very interesting replies...
The thing thats swinging it for me is the Salt content,im embarrassed to admit that i didnt realise prepackaged bread was so high in salt,1/2 a gramme per slice and we shouldnt have any more than 6gm a day,and thats for adults, crikey what have i been giving my girls in their "healthy"Hovis wholemeal packed lunch..il stick with my own version of kinda 70/30 wholemeal-white homemade with the added wheatgerm and milk powder, thankfully we eat plenty of fresh fruit n veg ,etc so probably have a decent balanced diet anyway.
PS,one last question,Where can i buy vitamin C tablets for wholemeal bread?apparantly it helps it rise.Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.
Week 10,total weightloss is now 13.5lbs Week 11 STSweek 14(I think)..-2, total loss now 1 stone exactly
GOT TO TARGET..1/2lb under now weigh 10st 6.5(lost 1st 3.5lbs)0 -

Hmmm...now pondering whether I could make some sort of equivalent with carob powder/cinnamon......sorta "swiss roll" with carob powder and bit of honey (and nuts - eg hazelnuts) mixed in with something thick/liquidy type texture.
Wonder what I could use for that liquidy type texture? Any suggestions please?
The chocolate spread was delish but went a bit liquidy so makes a bit of a mess when toasted.
I'm going to use cinnamon and sugar next time, I think you can mix some butter in as well and the spread it on before rolling up.0 -
You can also buy vitamin c powder from Lakeland. It's not essential, but does make the bread a bit lighter.
I love spelt bread! Have you tried rye flour too? I often add raisins, cinnamon, linseeds, poppy seeds - whatever is nearest! Our breadmaker has an excellent recipe book with it- one lovely loaf is made with chopped up chirizo and ground black pepper. A slice of that instead of a sandwich at lunch, very yum!0 -

now you've done it - I'll gonna have to make cinnamon rolls this weekend - and by no account can those be considered healthy!!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

as long as you promise not to tell the health police...I'm sure the dough could be made into a loaf - with or without the icing...
