Best deals for Freesat

Very worthwhile connecting ANY Freesat box (it's part of the Freesat spec to have a LAN port) to your broadband connection. The iPlayer integration is great, and you're watching it all on your TV, not hunched over a laptop. Other channels' stuff is coming soon. At the moment, iPlayer only works on Humax boxes...
Not according to the Freesat site:

OP, you might not want HD now, but in a couple of years (or less) your CRT might indeed go bang. In which case you will have to buy an HD ready TV, so you might as well future proof now and get an HD-Freesat box, even if it isn't the Humax.
You'll be paying around £100 for the dish and install anyway, so then skimping on a obsolete £30 SD box does not make sense to me.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Ah thanks macman, the link says iplayer only works with HD boxes so I guess that is the way forward. And as you say it is a bit of future proofing too.
Might have known that this would all start getting expensive when I looked into it further!!!!
So now it is best deals on a FreesatHD box then.......0 -

Hmm seems a pretty decent price even compared to the cheaper brands. Thanks

Thanks for that Macman, it's been opened up to some other kit then. It started as Humax only. Still doesn't work on my Panasonic TV yet...0

it might be useful, but look on ebay for your dish/cabling, its far cheaper. Theres a seller on there selling a twin output HD dish, all the cabling and clips with the mount for about £25.
You just then need to get a Freesat receiver.

Oh that might be worth considering, I'll have to call some installers and see what deals they will offer and whether it works better to get the dish myself.0
