Congrats to your daughter :T
My parents gave me a small amount of cash when I'd done my exams (about £50 at school but a bit more when I graduated :j ) but they always gave it to me after I'd finished writing the exams, not when my results came through, cos they said it was a well done for hard work and didn't matter what results I got

Hi
Well done to your daughter---you must be very proud of her!!
My daughter got 10 A* back in 2000---we were VERY SKINT and I really couldnt afford to get her anything. I think we got a take away that evening. Anyhow, she has just got a First Class Honours degree in Maths and she now has the world at her feet!!! I really wouldnt worry too much if you cant get her anything---she will understand and I am sure she will end up doing very well in her future career.
I did buy my daughter a lovely necklace as a keep sake when she got her degree.
I hope your daughter is going on to do her A levels----she must be a very clever girl!!!Well done!!!Sealed pot challenge 7...my number is 2144.....started Nov 29th ....0 -
I meant to add that my son only got 3 GCSES
he too found it hard to study and motivate himself! I was equally as proud of him as my daughter though and he has ended up at University after following a completely different route(he did a BTEC). He has just completed his Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching and is now going on to his 3rd year to do a top up degree in Sports Management!!!!
Neither of them got any cash for their exams(cos i was sooo skint) but I have bought him a keep sake too for his Foundation Degree!!!Sealed pot challenge 7...my number is 2144.....started Nov 29th ....0 -
My son rang to tell me he'd passed seven G.C.S.Es this morning, and could tell from my shriek of joy that I was chuffed (as could a lot of other people, since I was in Asda at the time. Oops). However, he won't be expecting much, as his brother passed three A levels last week and got... a bottle of Cherry Lambrini. Measured against that, seven G.C.S.Es must be worth at least half a bottle of Tizer

Skint but happy here. Well done lads - mum's mega proud of you
Eek! Someone's stolen my signature! :eek:0 -
I never got anything when I passed mine
that was a whole 6 years ago! Was debt free... then went travelling!0 -
I did 12 GCSE's and got pretty much all As - wish my parents had given me £50 per GCSE - I would have had a killer party with all of my mates...! These days if I have £50 spare I wonder which bill that will help pay... doesn't life change...

Well we were just waiting for one retake result for my son and he got a C. I was so pleased with this that I gave him £10 for the cinema but unbenownst to myself my husband phoned my daughter at Uni, who was going to the Reading Festival, and asked if he (my husband) got my son a ticket on ebay, could he tag along with her and her mates. Unfortunately, she fell over last night and has ruptured a ligament in her ankle so will not be going to Reading. She is coming home here to rest it and this has saved us a lot of money. However, I'm not pleased about this saving as she had just got a waitress job and she has missed out on that as well as a good weekend. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

I got £100 from my mum when i graduated from university a couple of years ago. Thats a hell of a lot of money to her and to me.
When i did GCSEs and A levels i got top results in the school and was given about £40 in WHSmith book tokens from the school each time i think.0
