Natwest Stocks & Shares ISA

Hi Guys.
I have very little knowledge when it comes to investments but keen to a) learn and b) take advantage of the potential to earn a reasonable return in comparison to current interest rates.
I may have made a mistake but without any personal knowledge I have started paying in £250 per month into a Natwest Stocks and Shares ISA to leave it to some professionals - it's currently down by £60 after 2 months with the third payment just about to come out.
I realise it's early stages and these things fluctuate but at this point I'm considering whether it's worth investing £250 a month elsewhere that may be more fruitful. It's more a side-project for me to learn a bit about investments and I have more secure savings elsewhere but £250 per month is what I am prepared to put into this.
Has anyone had any experience with this Natwest product or any others that have worked out well for them? I know the stock market is the biggest issue at the moment and the recent nosedive won't have helped matters but I just want to ensure that the best people are looking after my money - perhaps not a high street bank!

What exactly is the product you have bought into? The S&S ISA label is just a tax shelter. There are many investments that it can hold, for example, a FTSE 100 tracker fund.
Some banks (and other providers) provide a Self Select ISA option, where you choose your own investments. Other products (which is what yours sounds like) can be managed by them. The high street banks don't exactly have a brilliant track record in these managed offerings.Debbie0
