Tuesday 1st June What Small DFW Things Have you Done Today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :T

    Morning all!
A dull grey day here - looks like rain. I sound like my mum!

Its half term for me so a week at home sorting out paperwork and getting up to date with uni/school stuff.
I managed to sell something else on ebay last night so I'm now up to £46.24 on my make £150 in June challenge (£5 a day).:j
I'm going to list one or two mor ethings today and see how it goes. Almost a third of the way there now.

    On the DFW front today...
    • Post ebay/amazon parcels
    • Buy envelopes for posting
    • Finish a job app and start another one
    • Investigate temping work for the summer
    • Checked banks - payday on Friday (last one:eek:) and I'm just about £100 overdrawn but haven't added anything to loans, CCs etc - in fact have paid a lot off them over the past year so not too bad
    • Phone bank to transfer money from savings for holidays and then give it to OH who paid for the holiday upfront
    • Make a list of things that need doing for uni
    • Photograph and list a few things on ebay
    • Walk dog for free exercise
    • All food from stores
    • Do any surveys that come
    • Start diet for holiday - weighed this morning and have put on about 5 lbs and need to shift at least half a stone before we go in 6 weeks:eek::eek:
    • Have a LSD (apart from postage which is already paid for)
That's all I can think of so far!

    Have a good day

    Morning all!

Thanks for starting the thread Rachel.

Raining heavily here, yuck, but good for the garden.

Must get organised today, as back to work tomorrow :(

    Today I have / will:

Checked online banking, but none the wiser as it has still not updated itself since Friday - so I don't know whether I need to move money around to avoid being OD or not - If I were cynical I would think that this is to maximise the chance of incurring charges

See to animals, and the plants in the greenhouse - outside plants are being watered without any input from me!

Post ebay parcels - 2 items sold over the weekend :T

Meals from stores - prawn and salad wraps and fried leftover new potatoes for supper - strange but yummy combination and uses up leftovers :A

Make a quiche to use up some cream which is on its use by date (not that I worry unduly about such things, but won't have available time again till Saturday).

NSD except for postage for ebay items, and I guess this shouldn't count, as it is paid by the buyer!

Have a good day everyone

Oooh it's cold here, Popeye is in bed sick, maid is cleaning downstairs and I'm trapped upstairs with the computer and my knitting. :o

    So today I have/will:
Frozen last nights HM Curry - Popeye too unwell to eat it, so it will be useful next week.
Joined the Ravelry site to get more info/support in my knitting ;)
Will put a button loop on Popeye's TomTom cover that I completed :D (He's very impressed)
Unpicked DIL's shrug and am trying a new pattern :o
Signed up for a MS shop for when I'm in the UK next week :D Will look for more.
Check banking and pay off cc to avoid interest.
Will do my Pilates DVD (instead of joining a gym) when the maid has left :o
Will update my Christmas present list.
Make a menu plan for the remainder of this week, with stuff for Popeye next week.

I made a carrot cake at the weekend, unfortunately I believed someone when they said Cake Flour was SR flour and it is rather dense. I'm struggling to eat it :o but has anyone any suggestions?

    Have a great day :A
