cabling configuration - Sony KDL 32 EX 403 / Wharfedale DTR

I currently use a standard tv receiving the signal routed through a Wharfedale DTR (WTD160) which is a basic twin tuner freeview recorder. I am considering purchasing a new TV with built in freeview HD tuner - probably the Sony KDL 32 EX 403.

Is it possible to configure the cables in such a way that I will still be able to benefit from the functionality of the DTR - such as timeslip, pause live tv, twin tuner versatility?

Is there a cabling configuration which would enable simultaneous 'recording onto the Wharfedale DTR' whilst watching 'another channel on the TV' ?

If the DTR is connected directly to the aerial and the TV is then daisy chained off that - as the TV has freeview HD built in, will it take the signal coming through (from the Wharfedale DTR) and then provide the HD channels that are currently available?

Hope this makes sense - no doubt at some point I will replace the DTR but i'd be grateful of any set up / configuration advice based on the equipment detailed above. Thanks Chris

Just continue as you are now. You will be able to watch any 'available' channel on the tv whilst recording SD channels on the recorder. I say ' available channels ' because a lot of areas will not start transmitting in HD until 2011/2012. Enter your post code on the HD Freeview or Digitaluk websites to check if your area has HD transmissions at present.
