Since the Company site changed a few days ago, most comps now show a separate specific end date (previously no end date was shown and comps were 'live' for a random few days each).

So - now I propose that we post those comps that show a specific end date (not all do) on the main comps board, and put a link on this thread to that comp (as I started doing by popular demand a while ago). That way, MSEers who search comps by end date won't miss them.

Those comps that don't show an end date could just be posted as is on this thread. What do you reckon?

I've tried to enter a comp (for something I didn't really want of course!) twice, and it didn't let me, so dupes shouldn't be a problem. Obviously, if someone discovers differently, then please let me know and we can devise another plan of action.

Thanks for all your hard work Chealsea Girl but can I just ask why you'd post the links to other company comps in this thread? Surely if they have an end date they should just be on main board and not linked to in here?

Argh! Because that's what various people asked me to do a while ago.

Some people like all the Company comps in one thread, whilst others like them to be posted separately by end date on the main comps board.

As I said before, the Company site doesn't allow you to enter comps more than once, so no chance of duplication.

Just trying to please everyone...:(

I understand what you mean but surely the way comps on done on MSE is that each competition has it's own thread rather than each site? anyway i'll shut up x

First, thanks for all your hard work it is appriciated and lets face it, you cant please everyone.
My point is the same as blackmidnights which is i dont see why they are posted in both places, especially as the link is to the thread, not to the comp - if those who like it this way could explain their reasons, that would be great, but i dont see why its done like this, as i find it confusing and time consuming.:o

OK, in that case can I propose that this thread be locked as the way Company comps appear on their site has now changed.

It used to be a new comp every day at around 7am.

Now that it has become more random, and that comps on there now have specific end dates, I think this thread is redundant.

Hope that's OK with everyone.

I think folk used to like having all the Company comps either in one thread or linked because then they could enter them all as they were logged in. (I know that's how I felt anyhow!)
I know I've posted a link to a comp I've posted on the main board (that wasn't part on the daily-changing promotion) in this thread for this reason alone.
People seemed quite keen on this idea when it was discussed a while back, hence CG and others keeping all the Company comps together, here. And for a while, it worked well... :beer:
Now, however, Company have changed their site around and we don't need to log in at all - this negates any benefit from linking comps . There's also quite a bit of chat caused by the confusion (yes, I'm guilty here too !) which "Messes up" the thread for some.
To summarise, I suppose we would be better off just having all the comps separately on the main board - until Company launch another promotion with daily updates :eek:.
