What do you mean by discontinued?
Do you mean you're upgrading to a 4G when it comes out? If that the case and the insurance is with the network, it will transfer to cover the new handset.
If you want the old one covering you'll need to insure that separately.

No, I'm not upgrading, Apple are discontinuing the 3G, Its no longer for sale on there store and apparently already discontinued in Australia, would be same if you had a 2G, they are no longer made, so what happens to your insurance? Orange would not replace a 3G with 3GS, I don't want to be up the creak etc

The networks will have stocks of referbs for insurance clams.
They should last for quite a while, don't worry. . .

  • Or if they don't have any in stock or simply can't get any more stock they will either

    1) Provide an Insurance Amount upto the same price the phone could have been purchased for outright
    2) Provide another phone with the same specification as the one that has been lost/stolen/damaged if it's just a standard insurance policy
    3) Upgrade you to the latest model of the handset if it is to your advantage and not a disadvantage.
