Lolly, with LL u start paying before u even start dieting too, u have to have a certificate from your GP that u don't have any existing health issues (so u can't sue them when yr heart gives up?) which usually costs about £50 from yr surgery. U do also have to be at least 3 stone overweight to do LL. It was great while I was doing it, as I said I lost a lot of weight very quickly but one day I started thinking about the so-called counselling and its effects on my way of thinking about food and realised that this was definitely not a way to change anybody's attitude to food or their self esteem.
I really do recommend Paul McKenna.....I know he's a bit creepy :D but what he says really makes sense. Give it a go and if it doesn't suit u, sell the book/CD on ebay!!

Hi Lolly, I know how you feel.A few years ago I lost 3 stone with Slimming World but unfortunately over the last 4 years I have put most of it back on.I have rejoined SW several times since and have failed to lose hardly any weight even when I have kept to it properly-got totally fed up and disillusioned. So as a last resort I joined LL and am now in my second week.I am on abstinence programme for which my BMI has to be over 30-which it was- just. My weight loss for the first week I am more than happy with-Im just glad that it came off rather than nothing showing on the scales.
My GP charged £10 to complete the form-so not extortionate.Yes LL is expensive but I work hard and fortunately I am able to afford it -for how miserable I was feeling its well worth it.

I was going to say this is not a new idea, it was key part of recovery of those in the concentration camps during WWII

I know - chilling isn't it, that a commercial product is resulting in medical needs identical to that of concentration camp victims? So people are paying around £100 a week to be brainwashed and potentially put in the same state as someone stumbling out of Belsen (minus the parasitic infections)?
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

i know it shocks me, but some people are so desperate for a magic bullet they will believe in anything, even systems that are dangerous

but then there's a thread on here for magic cling film that can remove dozens of inches

Another recommendation for Slimming World. That will cost you £4.95 per week, and is a sensible balanced diet. I am the weigher for our local class, and the weight losses are good (easily 2lbs per week for most people following it properly)

Within the SW plan there are many foods you can eat freely, so you're not limited to a set calorie level, and you are eating a good healthy balance.

Bubby - 1800 calories a day? Are you a male? I thought 1500 for females/2000 for males was the max just to maintain your weight?
