Don't do it!!! I don't know why anyone would want to deprive themselves of food when they can eat plenty doing Weight Watchers and still lose weight! I've lost nearly 4 and a half stone with Weight Watchers and exercise.0

Refeeding syndrome is a distinct possibility in such cases - it's as a result, apparently (Google it) of the metabolism switching over from the starvation mode to deal with food again - the electrolytes and other chemicals in the body go haywire and heart failure then is a distinct possibility.
Scary stuff.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Don't do it I did it just over 3 years ago I've put all the weight back on and some! The shakes are the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted eeeewwww makes me wrech just thinking of it.
It's not worth the money really try slimming world I've had lots of weight loss from that and I'm not depriving myself

doing a starvation diet like this will just result in your body consuming your muscle and organs as well as your body fat
so when you come off it your metabolic rate will be drastically reduced meaning that you will put weight on very quickly
and worst of all you have not trained yourself what are healthy foods or what are proper portion sizes so if you go back to your old eating habits you will balloon up
and its perfectly feasible to loose heart mass on a starvation diet and over a long enough time or if you have an underlying problem it could kill you
as KAz said change your lifestyle, your overweight for a reason, your overeating and or eating junk food and or not being active enough

Took the words right out of my fingertips!
nasty short sighted way to loose weight, should be banned and only used for people with medical need (ie need to drop weight fast for a life saving operation)
and once you balloon up it will be so much harder to loose weight again since you will have a lot less lean muscle, so even if you weight the same as before you will actually have more body fat0 -

Scary stuff.
I was going to say this is not a new idea, it was key part of recovery of those in the concentration camps during WWII

Its very expensive, its naughty they dont tell you on there.
Have a look at Weight to Go which is what I ended up buying. IF you stick to the meals sent to you and the odd veg and fruit on top then it does indeed work. I lost half a stone in a month with ease and that was with me cheating by not having the three shakes you can have a day and having porridge for breakfast instead and the odd yoghurt/ice cream on top. You get nice soups for lunch and proper foodfor dinner.
Ive just bought a customised pack for another month leaving out the shakes as I have them all still

This is still only 850 ish calories per day:eek:
I am now doing tesco diets so that my meals are planned for me (have trouble coming up with meal ideas:o) and for my weight/height etc I am allowed 1800 calories per day and even that isn't eating anything naughty.0 -

Real food - the diet must be satisfying, easy to manage and, most important of all, taste good
Weight to Go provides a healthy..
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
under what sense of the word healthy does any starvation diet come under healthy
also on what planet do shake meal substitutes constitute real food :A
no powdered soups and meals here
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
no they just added water to the powdered soup and shakes before you sold them
the cooked meals are loaded with sodium (to try and give them flavour)
and the "none powedered" shakes use Aspartame which is at best just nasty

thank you all for your input....see i was never really aware of what was involved in LL hence the asking and again the website isnt all that helpful
I have done slimming world in the past and it worked well but i struggle with it now as i 'know' it all if that makes sense, so rather than being strict to start with then being a little more relaxed when i feel ive acheived something i go straight for relaxed then i dont lose much so i get deflated and then it doesnt work.
it isnt always a case of youre overweight because you overeat and under active...im a very active person...granted i dont go swimming or the gym..i find it difficult to do these things with my kids...but i do use my exercise bike and i walk ALOTand i dont overeat, maybe i dont always eat as healthy as i could but i do make an effort. I put on weight when i started contraception...i put on a stone in 3 weeks and it seems to not want to shift
