Kwik Fit are renowned for being rip off merchants.

They could offer 100% off and i'd still not touch them with a barge pole.

They did service and mot on my car last year and I have had no problems. They were a lot cheaper than any other Garages I have checked out, they did it when they said they would and did not try to sell me rubbish about work required which was unnecessary.
  • Braver man than me TDO, i hope this doesn't hit the resale value of your superb car.

i went to quick fit as had 20% air con, i know its all automated and had a feeling there was a leak with system and as they had a charge or no charge (fincially) machine found leeak so no air con for me!

But in the 30 mins i was there i saw a 'mechanic' trying to fit wrong size discs to a Clio, general pratting about and a manager giveing out false knowlege about a cyinder head to a customer. I would deffo aviod takeing my car or any future cars to them for anything more than tracking or air con!

    Too right.

A little while ago I somehow damaged a valve on our 4x4 when doing the weekly tyre pressure check at the local Tesco. The damage resulted in a slow (but not that slow) leak that I obviously had to get sorted PDQ.

Kwik-Fit were just up the road, and I knew I'd just about make it before the tyre was totally flat - so off I went thinking "they can't possibly screw up a simple valve replacement"

I drive it in, they get in in the bay and jack it up using a trolley jack.
The "technician" then proceeds to undo 5 wheelnuts and remove the wheel.
30 seconds later (seriously) of him huffing, puffing, and pulling on the wheel, and it eventually dawns on him I have 6 stud rims

Needless to say, I watched him like a hawk for the duration of the job to be happy in myself.

That is the company that told someone I know that they needed new front discs and pads at a cost of £350 when they where asked to check a vibration from the front end, turns out she had done an emergency stop and the ABS had cut in.

and the same company who tried to tell me that my brakes were faulty requiring new front pads/Discs and the car was dangerous to drive 3 DAYS after it passed an MOT (elsewhere)
