wind-up radios/torches etc

Options
I've posted this on the "Green" board as i though a few of you might have these. I know you can get wind-up radios & torches - can you get any other products in a wind-up version with a dynamo? Can you by any chance get a digital wind up radio?

Are there any other products that come in wind-up versions?

I'm looking for a wind-up radio with/and a wind up torch but would be interested to know what other products there are.

6 powercuts in 4 weeks means i want something to help me see during the blackouts and somethign to do during the blackouts!!

The windup radio I have is excellent! We have it in the bathroom and always give it a charge when needing sit down in there - gives us something to do!

I am also the owner of a wind up mobile phone charger! Alas none of the connectors fit my current phone, but it comes supplied with a range of connectors for most makes of phones. DH purchased it from iwantoneofthose.com about 3 years ago!

We also have a rechargable lantern - not windup I know, but we charge it up ready and if required for emergencies then it's ready to be used!

I don't believe there will be a digital wind up radio for quite some time, they need a lot of juice to run the small pcb.

If you enter "wind up generator" into ebay you should find an Irishman selling wind-up transformers. I have not bought one, so I don't know how effective they are.

You know I never even thought about it until you brought it up.
Yes of course. It would be direct current.

Has wind up torch and phone charger. Just bought some energy saving light bulbs from them, excellent service and rapid delivery, ordered yesterday arrived this morning and only paid for standard delivery:j

I heard the wind-up phone charger is just that a wind-up! It doesn't work or takes several hours just to show the charging symbol in the phones screen. Has anyone got one of these?
I know you can get a solar-powered charger for your iPods - are they any good anyone?

Wind-up torch in Woolies (£6.99) also recharges some mobiles - only went as far as seeing the "charging" light come on, dunno how much talk-you'd be likely to get before your arm falls off.
