Why not just get to the bottom of whay its slow in the 1st place, and use the 120Gb hardrive as a simple storage device? Vistas also slower than XP to run so I too am baffled as to why youd install Vista to 'speed it up'!
Id start with viruses etc first ~
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')

Over 60 processes probably has something to do with it.
http://www.malwarebytes.org/startuplite.php
Look at PCtools firewall (have you got windows firewall on too), nokia, pc connectivity solution, various updaters, lightscribe (if you don't use it), bluetooth (if you don't use it), dumprep would be a start.
Avast is lighter than MSE/defender.!!

Why on earth would you WANT to install Vista?
It's the biggest waste of space ever. Having used it on two separate PCs for a while, I'm going back to XP.
When an OS cannot execute a straightforward cut/paste operation without leaving some of the selected folders behind in the source folder, it's a crummy OS, in my view......
Are you going to mention that in every single thread which mentions Vista? It seems like it is eating away at you. Let it go.0 -
Well the computer looks clean.
As closed says, you have lots of things running that arnt required which is certainly going to slow it to a degree.
However, theres nothing really running that id say would slow it down considerably (Especially with 3 Gb RAM)
Maybe your hardrives on its way out?
As a last check (Entirely upto you though), id run combofix so I can see if anything else is running 'under the hood' so to speak
Please run COMBOFIX
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
Shut down your anti virus
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be) ~ if there are loads of 'SNAPSHOT' pages then leave them out
If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download:idea:0 -
daugthers on the pc will be a while but thanks for your input0
