You can even install Windows Vista with USB 2.0 flash memory drive now. All you need is a high speed 4GB flash memory only to create a bootable Windows Vista on flash memory drive0

Its better to increase the hard drive space before installing dual boot.0 -

Of course, the USB connection will be the bottleneck.0 -
Why on earth would you WANT to install Vista?
It's the biggest waste of space ever. Having used it on two separate PCs for a while, I'm going back to XP.
When an OS cannot execute a straightforward cut/paste operation without leaving some of the selected folders behind in the source folder, it's a crummy OS, in my view......0 -
Isn't the Dell GX270 a Pentium 4 ?0

Im just trying to make the thing more useful with out spending money , 40 gb is crap for a hard disk so its a case of using the 120 gb laptop drive to best effect0 -
Why not just get to the bottom of whay its slow in the 1st place, and use the 120Gb hardrive as a simple storage device? Vistas also slower than XP to run so I too am baffled as to why youd install Vista to 'speed it up'!
Id start with viruses etc first ~
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD THIS VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/2894/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log):idea:0
