Morning all........................(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))0 if you need one............
A much brighter morning, I see from the papers they are forecasting hot weather by the middle of the week!! OH will be out again this morning in his veg garden, its quite small, not nearly as big as our old alloments, what he finds to do, heaven knows.
Sheets are in the washer, will hang them out before I start on the Monday clean. I suggested to OH last night that we swap bedrooms in the winter, I have noticed that the guest room is much warmer than our room even with the window open, then I realised, it only has one outside wall, our room has three..........so come November time we will be changing rooms but not beds, no way will our 5' bed go in there its too long, so we will have to be warm and cosy in the 4'6 inch bed thats there.
I ended up yesterday lighting the wood stove it was so cold.......need to being another load of wood in.......
Time for a coffee fis.......cheers.................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Morning all
I'm back from Italy. I had a fab time :j all we did was sunbathe at the beach, eat in restaurants and drink wineI'm rocking a great tan, and feel very relaxed. Didn't get back til 2am (I drove back from airport), so bit tired today but I woke at 8am, may get a nap in later. The hotel we stayed in was lovely and the area was great, loads of restauarants/bars/ice cream places, and at the beach you paid 4Euro and got a lounger, parasol and use of clean toilets, changing rooms and water fountains. It was a cheap hols too, I took 280Euros (£250) and came back with half of that!! :j. I only wore half the stuff I took out there so could have probably just managed with hand luggage.
One night we were having dinner at a restaurant and we were wondering what the portion sizes were like, and glanced at this table opposite which had 3 Italian men around our age on it. We admired their food, then ordered ours. They ordered desert and we ogled that too. After they left, the waitress came over to us with a note from them with their telephone number on it!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: We laughed a lot at that!!
Back to reality now. My friend who I went with has split up with her boyfriend just before we left. It had been on the cards for months. She was glad to get away, and he moved out whilst she was on holidays.
WM has been on and clothes are drying on balcony. Second load is in WM now. Today I need to unpack, put away laundry when done, change bedding, and I need to get some food from supermarkets. I may go tomorrow instead if it's gonna be full of bank holiday madness!
Other than that I plan to sit on my balcony in the sun and read
Have a fab bank holiday all

Good morning,
There is little hope of much in the way of OS in the house of Cranky during June and July. We're going away for a week, and the kitchen floor is being dug up and replaced while we are away. On Wednesday this week, people will be knocking a hole in the back wall of my utility room, and putting in french windows. This means the back door can be bricked up, and when the chimney breast between the utility room and kitchen is knocked down, I should have a bigger, lighter kitchen. I am also being a bit lax with the housework just now, as it doesn't seem worth it. As soon as I clean up, someone comes and trails dust or plaster through the house, and it looks like a bomb has hit again.
The kitchen needs to be completely empty for the building works, so plates, tins, packets etc will be going in the sitting room, and the fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster etc will be going in the playroom. I need to freecycle the big table from the playroom to make room for the fridge and freezer (once the kitchen is done we'll have smaller table in the kitchen).
It will be chaos, and given the house elf's dislike of takeaway food, I expect to be living on beans or spaghetti on toast. There will not be any baking done until the kitchen is back in place. I finish work at the end of July, so that should be just in time to start the mammoth clean up operation that will come after all the building work. My niece is coming from Ireland for 5 weeks to help me look after the house elf while I try and get things straight. I must be mad!
Take care all of you.0 -
Morning all,
Bright and beautiful here :T, got the bedding in the wm, so will get that out, will shove dd's in after.
DD is much improved today, thanks for all the good wishes, she has gone off to meet a mate, and I think they are heading off to the beach for the day.
I have taken a chicken from the freezer, which I will roast later for dinner, maybe with jacket spud and salad.
OH has just taken dd to the station, and I have asked him to pick up some bacon, I really fancy a bacon sandwich.
Might go out for a nice ride in the country later, and take little dog out for a nice walk. Also the lawn needs mowing.
Hugs where needed, have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
Gloriously sunny here in Edinburgh. Going up Arthur's Seat with DH and youngest dog later this morning. We went up a couple of days ago and I enjoyed the walk as did little dog - her tail wagged the whole time. It was lovely seeing groups of tourists at the top - made me feel so happy to be back living in Scotland.
Plans for the day include making a menu plan so I can start emptying the freezer and do a defrost. Also need to do some washing. We are making a trip to get some navy bedroom curtains as DH keeps waking up early with all this glorious sun streaming through our beige ones.I tell him he imagine he's lying on a beach in the sun and just go back to sleep but that doesn't work. that would have been more MS than buying new curtains though!
Tea is salad - pasta salad (mash pesto and cream cheese together and stir it into cooked pasta - add some olive oil when it's cold so it's not too sticky and it's lovely) and some other bits and pieces.
Ok, need to apply some make up before I venture out the door.
(((hugs))) to those feeling unwell, anxious or lonely

Morning everybody,& hugs for those in need and MIA.Hope you are enjoying your BHol.
Nothing planned really for today, and its gone a bit dull now after being nice and sunny earlier- we might have been tempted to get the old jalopy out and drive to the lovely Lancs countryside, but it might be a bit chilly now, especially as DH always has the soft top down.Mind you a BH isnt the best time to go out in it,as it can't go very fast (1958 model)We got a bit of abuse last weekend from a very unpleasant young woman in a 4x4
DH lopped some branches off a hawthorn at the back of the garden so we can hopefully get a bit more sun on the decking. There are five in a row,and he needs to do the next one along as well.Bit of OS involved though,we can save the wood for the woodburner, once its dried out. He's doing paperwork at the mo,they have finished the extension they have been working on since Jan(its massive)so trying to sort the bill out.The client kept adding all kinds of extras as he went along,so hope he's willing to fork out.Even though H always tells them the extra cost at the time,in our experience they get a shock when its all totted up,and start quibbling at the final invoice.Hope I'm wrong .
Tea is some sirloin I got reduced at Sainsbugs, and I have some strawberries I got off the market at the weekend, but I might make something too.I got 'Spooning with Rosie' from the library,so could get some inspiration from there.
I had a lovely day on Friday,as a former colleague retired from school-they invited me to a special assembly, and there was a party at night.DS2 came as his mate was doing the DJing, they both went to the school(I only started working there after DSons had left though) and a couple of retired teachers of theirs were there.Quite funny to see DS2 at 6'4" hugging his tiny former teacher, who he used to have a very healthy respect for
Anyway, enough waffle from me,thats what happens when I dont post all week :rotfl:
Flutterbye, glad you have had a great hol-sounds lovely.
Enjoy the rest of the day.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
