Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Monday 31st of May.It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good. :)

Goodness me after 7am and I am the first one on here :)
Hope you are all having lovely lie ins :D

I have no major plans today. We might have a nose around to see what car boots are on today and have a look. Our final total came to around £75 which I don't think is too bad for our first :T H only came back with my pram and two small boxes of stuff (mostly some clothes etc) so can't complain at that :D I think he's keen to do another one sometime so we'll have to have another sort through the loft.
I did a shed load of baking yesterday so hopefully will have enough treats to see me and 6 kids through to the end of the week ;) I promise not to eat them all......
It's dull and cloudy here and feels a bit cool. Yesterday afternoon was lovely and we had a nice walk around Earlswood Lakes with the kids. Not very OS or MSE but we had a take away for tea as we couldn't decide what to have at home :o
I think we'll have fish baked in tinned toms with courgette ribbons and new pots. Will probably bung in some carrots there too.

Missed Going Postal last night  6pm is just too early for me to remember to watch something. Plus as we've only got basic Virgin TV they don't have a weekly TV guide (unlike Sky) so if you want to set a reminder you have to remember to do it on the day. So no chance of me doing that then. Will have to see if it's On Demand TV <sigh>

OK I have wittered on enough :o
Hugs to those that need them. Have a great Bank Holiday Monday OS or not.

Good Morning Ladies, and all who cross/follow,

This is my 3rd attempt at posting, Laptop keeps freezing:mad:. The boys finally fel asleep at 11.45 last night, and they are all up and at 'em this morning, the visitors will be gone by 11 though, then I'm off out to see my darling sister. Her MIL was a bit brighter yesterday and my lovely niece got to visit, so hopefully she will be feeling a bit better. Looking forward to giving her a hug.:) It's my DSIL in Switzerland's birthday today, so we'll geive her a ring soon, I can't get the webcam to work on this computer so no Skypeing though:(

After seeing my Sis the plan is to come home and enjoy my boys and my garden. I will go back to work tomorrow, but am still pretty sore, so we'll see how that goes. OS will be sorting out the uniforms, hanging out the wash that's in the machine just now, and making dnner. Not sure what we're having yet. Might dig the BBQ out and have a mini party for the three of us, and the dog!

Hope everyone's OK, and those in need are getting real hugs, not just our virtual ones. For all our new people, there's a couple of Scottish meets coming up, if you are interested, the threads should be on page one or page two as they were wakened yesterday!

    Hugs and love,

    Jackie X

PS Bitsy, I think Going Postal is repeated today at four.

    Good Morning Everyone

Had a day out yesterday in the end, spent the afternoon at Spitalfields Market and Brick Lane. Very colourful and fun. Then headed off to China Town. Stocked up on Soy & Oyster Sauce. Got a massive bottle of Soy Sauce for 90p so there was a little OS in my day :rotfl:

So today will be pottering around the house and having the chicken planned for yesterday. Weather not looking too good at the moment but hopefully the sun will come out this afternoon.

Hoovering to be done this morning and maybe a little ironing, plan to have a nice sit down with my book also as its a Bank Holiday:D

Nothing else to report so off now, have a great day.x

    Morning

I'm at work already - had to get DS1 to bring me in as my car is poorly and he starts at half eight. I was really sore this morning and took me ages to get up but my hospital appointment is tomorrow so hoping they can help!

DS1 filled the dishwasher and wiped the kitchen sides down this morning for me so its tidy for this evening and DH is picking something up for dinner as I forget to take anything out of the freezer :D

No bank holiday for the company I work for today but the building we're in is government owned so they are all off so there's only me in the whole place! Our next holiday is two days in the middle of July which will be a nice long weekend. Boss is off so I have the radio on  and sunshine streaming in through the window :D

    Any news on MSD yet?

    Have a good day x

I love half term, on a normal day I'd have been at work nearly 2 hours by now.
Dnephew is here & work is proceeding apace with the new shed, he arrived at 8 & I cooked him 2 bacon rashers, 2 sausages, 2 eggs, some mushrooms & 2 sliced of bread & butter, hopefully that will last him til lunchtime. I shall make a batch of choc chip cookies for him to take home with him as they are his favourites.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all

Lovely and sunny here for our bank holiday. DD working at 10 (it's a snack bar in a very popular tourist spot along the road so she should be busy!!) Think I will let her take the car as driving anywhere around here at bank holiday is a nightmare!

Went to Silverburn shopping place yesterday with DD. I dislike these places and this was no different, all the same shops. Must remember that going into Glasgow is far more enjoyable, at least you get some characters and a bit of atmosphere.

Already taken the vases, etc from the top of the kitchen cabinets and put them in the dishwasher, cleaned the tops of the cupboards and put the WM on. Need to empty the loft at some time as the guys are coming to spray the woodworm, will need to start early before it gets too warm up there. The garden is calling though - where do the nettles suddenly come from? Did cut the grass yesterday so at least that's done.

Start cutting out the carp from my diet today so should be a size 8 by tea time!! I would like to lose about half a stone, my flabby belly gets in the way when I put my socks on!! (Suppose going barefoot would sort that!).

Enjoy your day everyone and thoughts with those in need.
