ITV HD is available in Scotland.

Depending on your receiver you may need to add it manually.

You can find it on 11.428H 27.498 and also on 10.832H 21.998

As you say, STV is going HD on the 11th but it is still worthwhile remembering where to access ITV. This is because there may be occasions, like football matches, films etc, when you want to watch another ITV region.

I've already posted asking about this, so please disregard my post. The OH cant change our postcode, the box wont let him and he's grumpy. But if it's coming soon then he can just wait instead :)

I was advised to put in an english post code to recieve it on freesat ch 119. I have a panasonic tv with built in freesat. I can now get stv on my Other sat option which goes between freesat. dvb and that.Someone told me that stv hd can be viewed on sky hd box allready as its on trial at the moment. Checked my freesat last night and only stv sd seem to be available is this the case?
Finally after speaking to a freesat salesman last week he mentioned something very big is coming to freesat but wouldnt say anymore. Perhaps film 4 HD at a guess? anyone any other ideas?
    Thanks

Not what I would call big but due this year - 4HD, ITV player (to go with the BBC iPlayer we already have), extended hours on BBC HD and simulcast of BBC One in HD.

mjm3346 - 4HD - I'd be very interested where you got that info from, we've been waiting for that for a long time, any more info?
Also, best solution I found to the STV mess that prevents Scottish and Northern Irish viewers from getting ITV1HD in the normal way is to switch over to Other Satellite or whatever your tuner calls it. It's a bit buried on the Humax HDR but very easy on a Panasonic TV, and ITV1HD is about the only channel I'd watch there.

See the questions and answers to Emma Scott, MD of Freesat below (answers 1 and 4)

And from Channel 4 in response to a question about 4HD on 07/05/2010-
"Channel 4 has only recently launched on Freeview and is available on Sky and Virgin as well. We are constantly reviewing the distribution of our channels and would expect to be on Freesat in the future although there is no firm date currently planned"

Thanks for that, but I think that website interviewed that lady last year, and 'coming soon' has been constantly trotted out since launch. Good to hear from an authoratitive source that it is in fact a contractual/financial situation rather than a technical one. As a public service channel, C4 should be obliged to have its HD channel on ALL the broadcast platforms, not just the lucrative ones.
