Can I do anything about this?

Went to the shops today and parked my car, came back a few hours later and I was pretty much boxed in at either end by 2 cars ridiculously close.
**** only knows how driver on the right got out of their car cos there was about !!!!!!! 10 cm between our cars

My car now has lovely big mark where their door rammed into mine. Not dented but has marked the paint.

Me being immature little me was raging, took pic of their car and spat on the car and wrote a note to the tune of "thanks for ****ing my door you c*n*"

Calmed down now.

Anything I can do? I doubt there is :(
Best prob just to get my local valet guy to see if he can get rid of the mark.

I'd have taken photos and if I had the time, waited to see whether they came back (perhaps they only paid for an hour at the car park). If I had to leave, I would have left them a note, perhaps even phoning the police on their non emergency number to inform them of an accident where I had the culprit's vehicle to hand, just to get it on record. If they failed to respond, I would take matters further.

Get the car park supervisor to come, if available. If they refused to acknowledge the accident and just drove off, then are they not simply guilty of leaving the scene akin to failing to stop ?

When they read the language in your note they were probably thinking that you deserved being blocked in.

How did you get out or did you have to go away and come back later when the other cars had gone?

If they were parked at either end of you I am unclear as to how your door got marked

Not sure with the spitting bit (unless your on a field of grass taking home £50k / week) but can't fault rest of it.

Why not print off some ready made stickers in future, saying something along the lines of 'Beware, I can't park for sh*t' and slap one on the back of their car? Put it low down under bumper and will be weeks before they notice.

Who wasn't parked straight? I went shopping yesterday, and there was only one space available, because the person in the next space had parked right over the line. I parked dead straight in my space and could get out of my door, but there was no way the other driver could get in their car. I didn't damage the other car, but I made the assumption that the other driver wouldn't mind not being able to get in, because they knew they'd not parked right.

Problem isnt just drivers, cars have been getting bigger and bigger for years (current fiesta is the same size as the old escort, current focus is bigger than old mondeo etc and try parking a 4x4 or 8 seater). Doesnt matter if your bang in the middle of most spaces its still tricky getting in or out. Especially if your on the chunky side, of limited mobility or have child seats.

I always try parking at the far end of the car park and walking. Usually find its quicker than driving around for 10 minutes in search of the nearest space and could do with the excercise.

Also wheras I used to drive shiny new cars which had to be checked regularly I now own my own 3 year old Focus and I dont care about any dings, dents, or scratches as its staying with me until it dies mechanically.

I never felt comfortable about parking 30k worth of shiny paintwork in the middle of a supermarket car park full of trolleys, stressed out drivers, and people trying to wash my car. Now I honestly dont give a t*ss. The feeling is wonderfully liberating. Bit like watching the top gear crew driving through the botswana.

As long as its got air con on a hot day and the radio works I am a happy bunny.
