Hi,
I have been passed an Excel sheet for a presentation from a colleague.
Save putting all information into a seperate cells for each area, it has all been wrapped into one seperated by hyphens for each item of stock.
Eg:
Widget type - A Widget Place - Warehouse Widget Colour - Red and so on.
It has not been formatted and I want to rename some of the Widget titles as well as they are slightly vague
I have tried a normal find and replace inserting a format of bold for the name in question eg Widget Location
The issue is Excel changes the word but then formats the whole cell so all the type is bold which looks a mess.
Can anyone help save me cutting and pasting and starting again?
Thanks
Del

can you not split these into sepreate columns, then format these?
what version of Excle are you using?
Insert a couple of columns
Go to data menu / ribbon
Choose text to columns
follow the wizard that appears
- choose delimited
- use the seperate by hyphen or in the outher option type in a hyphen
This would be a better way of having the information presented, makes it easier to filter / sort / pivot0 -
Cheers mate will try that and see how I get on.0
