  • Hi Sarah, missed you :o I understand why you didn't want to post etc. Glad to see things are on the up. I know it looks bad regarding debt/PDL's/car insurance etc etc but at least you are still a family as much as your OH was a pita I am glad you are still a family unit.

Me and you have been around forever it seems and each time you have found yourself in a dip you have always turned it into a positve and sprinted out the other side. I am sure you will do that again, you just need to get there. Hopefully with all the support offered here you will do just fine :D

Super well done on your Oh gettinga job and being onside, lets hope it lasts :j

    Take care Sarah....

Thanks everyone, its nice to see a few people missed me (and still remember me!:rotfl:), feels like I've missed so much!!

OH has given his log in details, and it looks like he had two PDLs, one for £200 and one for £400. Goodness knows what the default charges on those are like, I will endeavour to find out next week.

Finally got through to cancel my old car insurance today, have only been on hold for the last three days!! And there was no entry in saynoto0870, so its gonna cost me a small fortune too

Need to look at changing my energy supplier again, found the last letter than has all the unit price info on, so will have a look at that next week too. I'm on 6-3s next week, so will have some afternoon time to do some admin stuff :)

On that note, I must go to bed, the alarm's set for 5am! Eeeep!!

Thanks again guys, it means a lot to know I can come here to vent/for support :A

Ah here you are! Good to know you're still about. Understand completely about not wanting to be on here as much, it can be disheartening when things aren't going brilliantly but the great thing is you get out of MSE what peeps need in such times and that is support.

Really pleased to hear the good news about OH's job, here's to things getting better!

OH started his new job yesterday, and apart from feeling like a newbie, he said he had a great time.... he seems to be really looking forward to getting back into work, which I am really pleased about! The only downer is that his pay day is 4 weeks away!! Lol! At least I get paid on Friday!!

Need to sort out DS's nursery place tomorrow and decide what we are going to do during the school hols.... OH and I have three weeks covered by our holidays, but that still leave 3 1/2 weeks to sort.... hmmmm

Am starting to think about budgets with OH's salary, and as soon as I know how much its gonna be each month, I can do the CCCS debt remedy again and go forward with the debts! All my debts are now in default except for one credit card, my Next account and my Argos storecard... All OH's are too, including his two PDLs. I need to find out who these are with and how much is owed including charges etc - no doubt its a lot!!!

Otherwise all is good, looking forward to pay day on Friday!!!

So pleased that OH has a job and that you can start budgeting to pay off the debts :T

Childcare is a pain and expensive too do you have any friends nearby who could share it with you?

Yes DT, thankfully we do! OH's 'rents help out loads, plus now he gets 15 hrs per week free, we'll be looking at about £250 a week instead of the £500 + we were before!!

OH gets paid tomorrow, so have just done a CCCS Debt Remedy on an estimation of what he's going to earn, and apparently we have a surplus of £1500!!! BUT, if I can get OH to agree to doing the DMP, we could be DF in 1 year 8 months!! Thats about 10 years sooner than the snowball calc said!!!

Once OH gets his wages through I will adjust as needed and plug it through again.... then just need to break it to OH!!
    Lol!!

  • Sounds great Sarah, fingers crossed he agrees :D Over 8 years less repayment plan sounds amazing! Are you still at your new store (further away?) or have you moved back?

Good luck, although please don't be too strict with yourself, remember you have to live too ;)

Thanks PaP, the issue will come when he realises some of the sacrifices he's going to have to make.... I'm gonna have to pick my time very carefully I think!
