Weedkiller mishap with Veg

Aarrgghh.

I have accidently sprayed all my tomato, cucumber, courgette, peas, pepper plants with "Lawn spot weed killer" last night.

They all looked a bit poorly this morning which is when I realised my mistake.

I keep spraying them with water but fear the damage is done - can anyone offer any words of hope that something might survive !!??

All those months of patiently growing from seed, carrying them in and out to harden them off all wasted :-(

Like the others I don't reckon they will survive :(

If you're in East Cambs, I'm sure I could let you have some stuff. Just PM me if you want anything.

    ((hugs))

Thanks all for the kind offers - Im in South manchester if anyone is close by, otherwise do garden centres/b&Q sell established plants at this time of year ?

Im thinking I might be able to get a new planting of courgette from seed.
  • Most places should be selling off stuff at reduced now i think or look at car boots and school fairs they sell them really cheap

Sorry to hear about your mishap.

B&Q is always a good hunting ground on Bank Hol Monday. They are so bad at looking after their plants that loads that only need a bit of TLC are sold off really cheaply.

I bought a tray of 12 good sized mixed lettuce and a tray of 6 straggly cherry toms for 98p each. (reduced from £3.49!!) and a 'strip' of Oregon Sugar Snap for 59p.

The lettuces went straight out into a container; the toms were put. up to their necks in black buckets and the strip of peas carefully broken into 5 lumps around a wigwam in a big container. Not bad for £2.55.

I wouldn't usually buy lettuce plants, but I'm a bit behind this year and the plants I had at home were half the size of the ones I bought.

B&Q is certainly worth a look, there were several cages of veggies reduced.

Do you have a wilko near you? They have a massive sale on plants, the larger ones are at least half price and the smaller ones are down to as low as 10p. Sorry I'm not near you to pass some plants on. x
