Moving to New Build - Sky Question
Dopple
I'm moving to a new build house early July and
would like to take my Sky services with me.
The house isn't finished yet, but I've been told by the builder
what the post code will be.
Despite this Sky can not locate the post code of the property on
either their system or the Royal Mail's.
It's really important that I get at least the broadband in quickly
as soon as we move as I do most of my bookmaker business online.
What is the best course of action to have the services in the new build as quickly and smoothly as possible?
I'm not bothered about haggling with Sky over moving costs,
I just need the services in without any hassle.

the builder must inform the council
the council inform RM the address is live
RM update thier records
Sky update their records whenever they update their PAF records0 -
as long as a building on the street has a postcode that is registered with the royal mail it will be fine.
All we need is the sat nav to find the street and the installer will do the rest.
cant see why our call centres are having problems0 -

it might be a whole new street
my house has been here for about 8 years, however its road name is that of a road/houses they demolished and never rebuilt
sat nav still takes people to the old street which is now all grass0 -
Phone line would have to be active before the housemove can be ordered for the broadband.Either way, you're looking at a coulpe weeks at least, depending on Openreach.0

When we moved into our new build the phone lines were already there they just had to be activated which with BT at the time took 24HRs from phoning them up not sure how long sky would take in doing this then you had to wait for the broadband to be activated which i beleive was about a week. Could you not get a mobile dongle for the period in between it all being installed so you can at least get online ?:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0
