Kwik Fit online pre order for tyres?
There seems to be a lot of negative comment about Kwik Fit (and after my daughters experience with an MOT today I can understand it) but as far as pre-order online tyre prices are they any good? I checked on Michelins for my OH car and can't find a cheaper price even after going to a few local small fitters

Have you gone right through? The reason they're cheaper is because they then add valve and balancing on to the basic tyre price when you click to buy them.0

we had to use them recently, was £50 cheaper to pre book online, no problems with it, went at our time, they were done in 10/15 minutes and off we wentYes Your Dukeiness0

Yes I went right through to checkout and saw the extras like balancing, valves and disposal but didn't push the buy button until I'd checked other local national chains and small fitters. Kwik Fit were definitely the cheapest for Michelins. The only negative thing was the fact that for my tyre size(very common) they only offered two options: Continental & Michelin. As I wanted the Michelins for their (in my opinion) cost effectiveness for 16kpa driving this was not a problemAwaiting a new sig0 -

Blackcircles work out cheaper for me, for E3B's.
Blackcircles were cheaper than Costco as well.
Have a look at Kumho KH15 next time , they're an energy saver, and about two thirds the cost, with good reviews.0 -
Well if they're cheapest go for it. Just make sure you watch them put them on and ignore them if they tell you you need ANYTHING else.
That's something I'm wary about as my daughter was forced to get an MOT this weekend(long story) and had to go to Kwik Fit. She ended up with a bill for £270 on a 6 year old Corsa with 56K on the clock: front roll bars, exhaust etc. All it failed on was"Offside front CV joint gaiter insecurely mounted onto it's housing" but I can't see anything on the bill apart from £5 labour to address this problem.
All the other items were advisory including wanting to replace tyres that were down to 1.6mm. I checked them last weekend and they were nowhere down to the wear bars so I told her not to have the tyres changed as at least I should be able to find a better deal online even if it was with Kwik Fit. When I went down with her to collect the car they actually agreed that I could get a better deal if I booked online.Awaiting a new sig0 -
So, are these tyres for the corsa or another car? Surely the corsa doesn't need new tyres?0

What size are you after? 205 55 16's?
I'm sure KF will be cheaper, but when they take your wheels off they will suck air thru their teeth and tell you your car needs discs, pads, shockers, springs, piece of exhaust, cat, air filter. BUUUUUUUUUUT they wont charge you for the tyre valves...0 -

Sorry I may have confused you. I have been looking for tyres for my wifes car. Toyota Corolla - Michelins.
My wariness about Kwik Fit came from my daughters experience today when they "advised" new tyres as part of the MOT for her Corsa(details above in earlier post). Why do you think the Corsa shouldn't need new tyres? It's done 56k and is on it's second set. My problem, apart from the possibly uneccessary MOT replacements, is that they reckon that there is only 1.6mm of tread left on the Corsa whereas I think there is about 4mm. When I queried this they said that tyre tread should be checked with no load on the tyreAwaiting a new sig0 -

They also try to tell you your brakes need changing and shock absorbers are leaking..... You'll walk out thinking your car is falling apart.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
